do you use one? are they a good or bad thing? me, i think that if you webcam someone you really know (family member, real life friend) they are great. but what about someone you meet on the net?

i agree with you, but the risk is there. i met a chick a while backand she was a star wars geek like me. well, one thing led to another, and she invited me to turn on webcams. i did, and i saw that she was really hot. all of a sudden, her naked boyfriend steps into view and she started blowing him.

you can find out anything on the net. a simple picture can lead to vital information for a potential stalker. i have a cop friend who investigates stuff like this.

so if an art photographer posts an art picture of his on the net and you're in that picture (just the face neck and shoulders) too...

well, you have to require additional info. lets say you and i are webcaming, getting to know each other, then you let it slip that you live in.....i dont know, illinois. all one would have to do is access DMV records to get a name and address.

i think if i buy a webcam i would only use it with people i know well,
family and friend and if its with someone from a forum or something ill have to be talking to him or her a long time before i turn on a webcam. i dunno

I kind of wish I had a webcam, but I'd only use it for instant messenger `srug~

I have a webcam around here somewhere. Used to use it all the time, thought it was cool. Now I really don't see the purpose anymore, and I'm to lazy to connect it to my computer.

Still I wouldn't really care, everything a stalker would want to know about me can be found on Google anyways, proabbly not even that much work to figure it all out. So personally I really don't see the problem with doing all that crap, and only extremely paranoid people would think that it's really dangerous.

Of course it can turn out wrong but you just have to be smart about it, posting naked pictures of yourself is idiotic because god knows where they end up, but for the rest who cares?

He could do the same thing with knowing your IP address, or if you're stupid enough to give your address, yadda yadda yadda. That said, if you tell someone you live in say, Greenville, South Carolina and you show them your picture, that's one thing. Getting on a webcam with someone and chilling is something else. A webcam alone can't do anything. Giving them your address, SSN, or card number is actually dangerous. Showing them your picture doesn't mean anything.

Webcams are not dangerous without other information.

agreed, as i stated in my previous posts. but they can lead to other things, things that would cause a seemingly normal to do some not so normal things.

I am hoping tobuy a new webcam! Theyre awesome...especially over messengers=D

i am gonna get one, but only to use with my close friends and family, maybe two or three members here.

I believe cams would be cool for special reasons like kids to see a divorced parent and such...........otherwise......people look like hell in the morning when they post...........hjahahaha

I'd only buy one if it was for a special person,.

something tells me that most people primp themselves before camming.
