Hey, I'm new at this Respect thread thing and decided to make this thread after seeing Darwin's feats during the 'Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire' arc. For those of you who don't know or care, Darwin (Armando Muņoz) has the ability of reactive evolution. For example, if he plunges 2,000 feet into the sea, his body would almost instantly adapt to the immense pressure and so on. Here's the first scan from his bio:

What would happen if darwin had to fight Silver Surfer? Would he evolve cosmic powers?

Well, there have been no set limits on his powers so there's really no way of knowing right now. I hope not. I'd like him kept at a reasonable level of power. But, his body has transformed itself into energy before so it might be possible.

I agree with you Alfiem, there needs to be more (and better) black characters. I'm glad to see both Marvel and DC taking strides to introduce diversity. Darwin is pretty cool (he is african american and hispanic too)

Honestly? It kinda bothers me.

Not ethnic superheros - I'm not actually white, myself.

But the African/Hispanic American thing. It seems kinda like they made him a mix of two minorities ONLY for the sake of making him a mix of two minorities....

Professor X and Beast who rank among the most intelligent individuals in the MU are baffled by the fact that Darwin is regrowing a body from pure energy. At this point, the Professor suggests that there is no way to determine what Darwin could NOT survive.

in the last scan he says "a jump through space," but he actually survived a jump through a stargate. i'd assume that's a slightly better feat, if you think about it.

darwin is certainly the best new character since cassandra nova.

I think I need to stay away from X-Men for a while because every new character of theirs brings me nothing but contempt for the character and the series. Especially when the character is supposed to be insanely powerful.

In that scan they say a burst of energy driving him beyond omega.I always thought omega meant unlimited potential

Oh, come on. He's not a bad character....totally unoriginal in every way, but not "bad".

I thought there was supposed to be no more mutants. Somebody lied.

Darwins a walking plot hole though because when someone tries to remove his power it'd make itself irremovable

I like Darwin, first new character in awhile that I enjoy.

Darwin does give a cool new vibe to the x-men team.

I was saddened by his absence from this last arch of Uncanny.

As was I. I was also pretty pissed when he attempted to deal with the Hulk.

Darwin evolves the ability to absorb Hulk's gamma radiation, on the fly:
