I was going to post this in the Video Game section. But I think this story is more broader than just games:

Here in America we have Hilary with the same negative opinion on Video games. But it worries me that if this happens in Germany. Why wouldn't it happen in the US.

Moral decay? That's assuming that people cannot distinguish between shooting a person made of pixels and shooting a live person. I really think most people (99.9...%) can.

Instead of the idiots banning what is a 'POSSIBILITY' they should at least TRY to enforce actual friggin censorship rules. You see a 11 year old walk out with a GTA game you grab that little snot and damn well make sure you take the game off him.

I actually wished my exterminator played more Dig Dug. Maybe he wouldn't do such a sorry job and actually wipe those suckers off the planet once and for all.

It doesn't stop people from having sex either...

The same thing happened to TV once it came out, people tried to destroy that too and blamed for everything and it has done a lot of good things and bad things, but we all agree that TV isn't responsible for killing people. It's just that old people don't play games then they see things like this happen see video games and stop thinking.

Wow you should probably do a little bit of research before you say something as uninformed as that. There is not one study showing a decrease in the amount of violence and many showing an increase in violence because of video games. Since I don't feel like finding a really good and credible report I'll just link this one:

it only encourages violence in-game... if you play grand theft auto, you're bound to commit violent acts, it doesnt make you prone to violence in the real world though...

Honestly, its just a generational gap where adults haven't had a lot of exposure to videogames. I don't play the real violent games myself, but I watch them get played and it doesn't compel me at all to go hurt someone. I honestly think violent videogames are a good way to vent.

Violent people are attracted to violence anyway. The games dont' make them violent.

Playing Burnout does not make me want to race down a hill at top speed to try to cause the most costly accident I can.
