what album(s) are you most looking forward to in '07? I couldn't help to be disappointed with '06 despite some excellent releases (Tool, Bob Dylan, RHCP, Sonic Youth, TV on the Radio, Tom Waits, Yo La Tengo, among others), but I think that 2007 will be a much better year for music (at least for me, since alot of the bands I really enjoy are coming out with some new stuff).

I'm sure Radiohead is at the top of a lot of people's lists, but others that I'm looking forward to include:

The Shins,
and Of Montreal (next month! w00t!)

Modest Mouse
Wolf Parade
Interpol
The Postal Service
The Arcade Fire
Wilco
Queens of the Stone Age
Animal Collective
Cursive
The Cure

just to name a few..


There's even been word of new albums coming from Pixies and The Smashing Pumpkins (which is AWESOME), so very excited about that.

The last time YOU checked it was up in the air.

They've finished songs and are well into the recording process, it won't take an entire year to finish and release, it will be out before 2008.

There's one being made, yes. Whether or not it'll see the light of day in 2007 is not certain to my knowledge.

There is actually a new Green Day album coming out in the latter part of the year.

The last review I read featuring Green Day featured them stating that they are working on three new albums. My guess would be that they'd be released in within months of each other, but if that's the case I can't see anything from them until 08.

I've been sampling "Ghost Reveries" and it's incredible. I'd gladly welcome new stuff.

Maybe a new Nickelback album late 07'. I know you guys dont like them but thats what I'm looking forward to. And a slight chance of a new Scott Stapp album. (i know u hate that too lol.) Dont know about anything else.

I heard they put up a good show. I wanted to see them while they were in Europe, but because they were touring with and opening for Tool (through Europe at least) the ticket prices sky-rocketed...

It was epic when they opened for Tool, I was there.

I bet it was. Too bad the ticket prices were epic as well... kind of funny how touring with a band like Tool can make the prices go from 15 to 95 Euro. Not saying that seeing Mastodon and Tool in one night isn't worth it, just can't afford it.

I have high hopes for this one. It was produced by Nick Raskulinecz.

Radiohead for me, still. Neon Bible by The Arcade Fire is pretty close, I've got a feeling about it.

From Beale Street to Oblivion by Clutch and also new Rush and new Queens of the Stone Age, which I didn't expect but is apparantly in the ol' works.
