You'll find that pretty much every country has its ups and downs. You just know your own country's downs better because you actually live there.

I have no idea, I live in Holland I'm sure they have agency's that will look for jobs for you though...

As for doing both, easy just don't tell the government you do both and try to do one "black" without paying taxes without contracts and whatever, real easy that way smile You just can't get well paying jobs that way but at least you'll get paid double.

Small downside is that your breaking the law and that you will likely not be insured if you get hurt while working there....

debbiejo
But the government will find out when doing your taxes...You must claim everything over $50.00 income here........they will check.....then you're screwed big time.

Haha that's funny...

Like the government has the ability to check millions of tax records, they limit it down to risk groups, if you're not in risk group or a random number you won't have any problems

debbiejo
The IRS is very aggressive here.........I have always abided by the laws, but many feel it is not fair, and likely so from stories I have heard....The US, or I should say Michigan is in such desperate need that they take children out of homes to place them in other care just to get the money for it....sounds weird, I know, but for every child taken out of a home during hard times...the gov. makes money....Also just instituted was a "driving point" record....If one in the past had high driving points then you paid all court costs, atty costs and done with it..........NOW not only do you pay this, but you pay anywhere from $500.00 to 2000.00 per year just for the hell of it....(2 year policy).....I know so many people that have to save extra for this.........Also here, if a person is not working they (this has to do with kids) take on what they call rearranges.......don't matter if you have a job or not..........you can put in all the applications forever, but if not hired, don't matter, it keep on calculating until you could owe thousands up on thousands of dollars,.......even when the other makes...........Millions of dollars net.

In short Michigan is hurting and people are leaving the state because the people cannot afford to live here anymore............We are the Car industry, which has died, and all jobs has to do with this here................

The Gov. is tryin to find how to fix the prob with over taxing, over punishing, and now people are moving out of state..........There are NO jobs here .........so sad for such a wonderful and beautiful state.

South Africa or something like that... Really cheap, a dollar can get you a guy that will guard your car all day...

then again if you don't pay him that dollar he'll break in your car and steal everything so you have to stay parked in one place or else it will still be expensive.

Well, it could affect you in two possible ways, 1)Economically, HIV/AIDS in that magnitude can have an impact on a countries economy 2) Personal, I suspect you'd be possibly open to having a romantic relationship with someone if you did relocate

The S. African economy is currently fairly stable, but like most parts of Africa it can drastically change in a heartbeat; wars, famine, change of government etc.

South Africa is currently putting many resources into bolstering their tourism which in turn helps their economy. They commonly hire foreigners for varies jobs, you could become a tour guide for English speaking tourist, just an idea. Another is anything in the medical field.

Well ........let's keep it on the economy........not the "Aids"or other factors.

AND HIV/AIDS CAN AFFECT THE ECONOMY. When 22% (and possibly rising)of the population is sickened with a death causing disease, the economy can sway from good to crap. If you're serious and the economy of a country is the determining factor if you move there, then all aspects of the economy need to be taken into consideration.

We may hate him but this country isn't doing a damn thing about it. We've finally gotten a Democratic majority in both the HoR and the Senate but that's only the first step. If people hate this guy so much we need to impeach his sorry ass. But we're not doing that so yes, we're bending over and taking it.

I disagree... Voting in Democratic majority in both houses is saying "We're not bending over", as far as impeaching the guy, 1) It wouldn't be easy to impeach Bush 2) Impeach him, then what? Clinton was impeached, that didn't do much to him as the Reps had hoped.

Like I said. It was only the first step. Impeachment is the next step. And I'm pretty sure it would be easy. I mean, if his approval rating is so low how can it not? With the addition of a Democratic majority that will vote "yes" whether they like him or not, and a divided Republican party, he will easily be voted out. Do we really want him in control another 2 year. I sure as hell don't.

After we impeach him we start a new. WITH ANYBODY! Honestly I'd take anybody over George Bush right now. Name a candidate that I'd pick over Bush and I'll give you a dollar.

It would not be that easy, making something legally stick to a man covered in teflon is next to impossible. By the time it was over, he'd be out office anyhow.

Well, okay, educate me, what you think are the pros and cons of your system. Also what you find so bad about the German system. I'm not well-versed in the specifics of the German system, but here's what I know:

Parliamentary system (which is the system of most countries):
-Judicial, Executive, and Legislative branches vested in one body, Parliament. (rampant possibilities for corruption)
-Prime Minister, which is elected by the House of Commons, and wields supreme executive and legislative power
-ceremonial duties carried out by a President (or king and queen in a monarchical system)
-states have no individual powers

Now Germany is a federal parliamentary representative democratic republic...wow. I don't even think I want to understand that.

Federal system (United States):
-Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches separate with powers (checks and balances) over each other, to keep each other in check.
-President serves both ceremonial and executive duties, has no power over legislature.
-states are autonomous and have separate powers from federal government.

Now, I am by no means an expert, but I like the federal system a lot better

Ya but it is in our insurance etc, in the taxes or somthing, we pay it in other things, so really it is not so free. We do not pay it our directly when we may have an operation like they do in USA for example, but we do still have to pay health insurance in another way.

Well, you should really, really check out Germany, we are a kind of mix between the two. You might like it.

Also, I think you got some facts about the parliamentary system wrong.

The three branches are separated in most countries I believe.

Here is where you are wrong, the law making branch just makes the law but has no influence on anything else, the rest carries it out and judges. Ministers and whatever have no influence at all, if they want to change anything they need to change the law. To change the law would require a 50% majority in favor of it. And I'm not sure if Germany has this but an overseeing house to agree with it as well. At least that's the case in Holland.

Only not really, the prime minister is the head of state like the President in the US. But she in this case still has to answer to other body's of government. Still needs those things to agree and still needs people to be on her side in order for her to change things. She's just the head of the country but not the one that decides everything

A system of Federal government regulating the law everywhere creates simple laws in a country where nothing changes if you cross state lines. It also makes things clearer for the people removes difference between states and gives the same funding to the same people throughout the country. Making sure it basically does not matter where you live, I can only be happy with moves like this. Federal government should make the laws.

States however do often have power, not in law making powers but they do have some power in how those laws are executed, which things are considered more important then others and where the government money is spend on.

Easy it's a republic represented by a parliament that is democratically chosen. Pretty much the same as the US, only the US doesn't have a parliament.

As is the case in Germany. The US still has people that make laws don't they?

The same in Germany, they can propose new laws however but it's still parliament which is a representation of the people that have to agree with these laws.

Which is not something I would consider a good thing in most situations.

ireland has a motherf*cking pile of taxes... the less money you have, the more tax you pay... healthcare is a joke unless you can afford insurance, and the premiums are huge, as only one company has a monopoly and charges what it likes...

East St Louis, Illinios

and

West St Louis, Missouri

so which side is the bad one!

debbiejo
Well, I do believe it is the East side..........So, ok...MO is ok..

Which is not something I would consider a good thing in most situations. It was a very cursory look at both of the systems, if I felt like it I could take a much deeper look.

And you're incorrect on one point. The Prime Minister is the Head of Government. The Monarch/President is the Head of State (ceremonial powers) in a parliamentary system.

The difference would be what exactly? In the US the president decides on policy he leads the country. The Prime minister as the head of government does about the same only with far less power, seeing as two party systems never force coalitions. Three or more party systems often do.
