Dont really have one, im not stupid enough to go to movies that can suck bad enough to list.

well you cant ALWAYS tell if a movie is going to suck.Like with The good sheapard and the wickerman the trailers looked very promising and made them out to look like great movies but they were just plain horrible.

I'm not one to really interrogate others, but to have "Firewall" as one of the best, and "The Good Shepard" as the worst, considering the stars and director, is hard for me to believe.

I love the theatres, but I'm short on money so I only go to see films that I know that I'll like.

V for Vendetta (9/10) awesome.
X3 (7.5/10) not quite what I thought, but I liked it.
Superman Returns (9.5/10) just to go against the grain in here.
Pirates 2 (9/10) cool film
Cars (8/10) cute film
Casino Royale (10/10) -best film I saw this year.

If you put a bow tie on a crap it makes the crap better but doesn't change the fact that it's still crap.

It was entertaining for a television movie, in my opinion. Anything is an improvement over a Uwe Boll film.

You can have your differentiating opinion on Saw 3... but Babel? The film that's received the most Golden Globe noms so far? And is an incredible masterpiece? I have nothing against personal opinion and it not beign in your favorites list, but it is by far not the worst of the year, and for me, is one of the best.

The best movie I saw this year by a million miles was Miami Vice; it was just so effortlessly cool and stylish. It was also very original in the way it used a 'buddy-movie' situation where the partners hardly even talked; such was the understanding between them that only a nod and a look conveyed their meaning. Then, on top of that, it was a love story played out in-front of a thriller set-up. It was pure class.

Other than that, I thought these movies were great:

The Grizzly Man, The New World, An Inconvenient Truth, Syriana...I think that's about it for now.

Then, there are some 2006 movies that haven't come my way yet, but that I have high hopes for: Borat, Little Miss Sunshine, The Fountain, Pan's Labyrinth...

Either way, The Departed is nowhere near the best movie of the year. It's not even the best version of that concept.

Grizzly Man was awesome, forgot about that one.

"Grizzly Man" was actually 2005. Now, I'm going to go coo over some bear feces.

I forgot about Miami Vice, such a dissapointment, especially considering how awesome the original show was. Not Magnum PI awesome, but awesome none the less

I was looking forward to Babel for a long ass time, but right when the opening scene rolled, I knew Inarritu wasn't trying anything new. It looks like shit when being compared to 21 Grams and Amores Perros.

It's received the most Globe nods so far? So what?

I've yet to continue Miami Vice, but the more Krunkd keeps raving, the more excited I get.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.. it's hilarious how almost everybody's got X3 in their worst-list. e'specially when they've got movies like The Convent and Nightwatch in their best-list.. you're like fvcking sheep (not saying that X3 was an awesome movie, but it was a good one)

I liked Rocky 6 and The Departed.

"X3" wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but "Nightwatch" had some incredible cinematography, and an overall original story which I really enjoyed.

It came out in 2006 in most countries. It's a fantastic documentary, the scene when Herzog listens to the 'death tape' is electric.

1. V For Vendetta: Powerful, strong, emotional, and incredibly well made. Easily the best film of the year.

2. X-Men 3: Very good action flick. The Juggernaut was definately the best villain of the year.

3. Lucky Number Slevin: Smartest movie in years. Always a joy to watch. Hilarious, too. Bruce Willis has still got it.

4. Nacho Libre: Jack Black at his best. Good fights, great characters, and a laugh from start to finish.

5. Talladega Nights: Funniest movie of the year.

6. Cars: Best CGI film since "The Incredibles". An enjoyment every minute of the film.

7. Barnyard: Good story, good comedy, and surprisingly, amazing film as a whole.

WORST
1. Aliens Gone Wild: One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Don't even look it up. A combination of the shittiest films of the 80s into something so bad that I couldn't finish it.

2. Ultraviolet: Another one of the worst films ever made. Dull, annoying, cliche, and random. Somehow worse than "Godzilla and Mothra-The Battle For Earth" in these things.

3. Fun With Dick And Jane: BORING. I did not laugh once. Jim Carrey's worst movie ever.

4. Superman Returns: One of the dumbest superhero movies yet. Keviin Spacey is great, but come on! Do something new! Plus, the twist. That was one of the crappiest twists ever. Jeez!

5. Firewall: Harrison Ford's worst movie.

I'm glad to have a thread like this. Now the holidays are almost over and I have a stack of free movie passes, but 99% of the time they can't be used in the first weekend of a movie. The downside is I have to wait, but the upside is I will get to hear what is worth seeing. That being said I did see:

Wedding Crashers is hilarious.

Best movies:

Superman Returns (Best movie of the year. Great handling from Singer. Can't wait for the sequel)

Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (one of the best secrets of the year. It's Tommy Lee Jones equivalent of "Unforgiven"

Silent Hill (great job on transitioning the game to the screen. Best movie game yet IMO)

Slither (great homage to b-monster movies. The movie pokes so much fun at itself and the genre that it was just a pure delight to see it)


Worst movies:

V for Vendetta (this movie was a mess for me, and I'm a big fan of political, action, comic book and Natalie Portman movies. I still don't see what everyone likes about it. There was just too much thrown in here IMO, with political messages to make it seem legit. As one famous critic put it, it's a political movie for those who normally don't follow politics).

Miami Vice (and I'm one of the biggest fans of Michael Mann. Such a downer for me when a movie from this directing god just fails all around)

Hostel (other than the naked girls hehe, the rest of the movie was awful. Thank goodness I only paid $1 at the discount theater for it).

I know you feel it 'fails all around'(sic), but what was it that you didn't like about Miami Vice? It was more sophisticated than Collateral and the last few scenes out-Heated Heat.

POTC2 was a dissappointment because they tried to impress you to much. They were throwing in everything they got to try to keep peoples interest till the third one came out. I liked the first one because of its silly effects and humor that didnt have to be there 100% of the time.

I thought it was a bunch of balls.

the dialogue itself wasn't awful, but hartnett only delivered it so-so and lucy liu was just ****ing blood curdling. she can't make snappy dialogue believable any more than a high school theater troupe.

What about if the high-school theater troupe was, like, really good and stuff? Would that affect what you just said in any meaningful - and heartfelt - way?

Nightwatch is a popular Russian movie trilogy

It recently came to the US, in 2005, not 06'

I recommend checking it out if you like Dark action thrillers like Underworld

This was the worst movie of 2006 nothing happened in it until the end when there was 10 minutes of action total crap
