Okay so my friend formatted his sony walkman via windows and now it says format error. Is there any way of reversing this? She has tried resetting it. She is going to try and return it but i said I'll see if anyone knows if it can be reversed. So any help appreciated doesn't matter if it can't be.

I had this problems with my mp3. The format had to be set on the actual mp3.

You should really follow the instructions of any MP3 player on how to format it properly. I had this problem with an old MP3 player where I used the windows format option which made the MP3 player never play music again. Chances are the MP3 player is now damaged and needs to be replaced.

It is easy, just hold it and fathem it out.
