For a start pretty much all the threads listed are threads that will not die anyway. Even if I certainly wish they were. They are threads that are not likely to be duplicated because anyone who's been on the forum for a week knows about them... Some of the threads listed are already duplicates. (I.E. The KMC Card threads)

Keeping this thread updated is more of a hassle that just closing threads that are duplicated and warning the newer members to search before hand. It's not like it happens constantly anyway. Only a few times a day. Chances are the members that don't search will not look in this thread anyway making it obsolete.

Well the whole point of this thread was to stop duplicates... As you yourself stated. There is more than one card thread and they have not been closed, merged or deleted. So why are they in this list? Could I not make my own card thread if I wished?

It's more hassle than not updating any thread though. Isn't the whole point of the off-topic forum to be really informal and shit? Making a directory in my opinion kind of goes agaisnt the whole thing.

The maximum permitted length for one post is 10000 characters. There' s only room for 11 more threads in your first post.

I know the OTF better than anyone else, and the majority of the threads you gathered are not the ones members duplicate, but are just the popular threads.

You have all the popular threads listed if you sort them by number of replies in descending order.

The duplicate thread issue is of course not solved (probably not even touched) by that. But the OTF is large and even if one is skilled with the KMC Search as well as Google they can by no means be sure that they won't create a duplicate thread. As for new users who oftentimes open them. I guess that is just an annoyance we have to live with. I don't see a fair way out at least.

Honestly, I've already used this thread a bunch of times to go and find certain threads around the forum that were on other pages

Like I said, if you sort the threads by number of replies in descending order, then you have the most of them on the first page. Another option is to subscribe to threads.
