Eclipso
I added more then the other poll and a different question and restricted it to one Vampire from each movie, tv show or book.

Vote and Enjoy!!!

quickshot
Why did you but morbius and not blade..

still dracula

P.S this'll probably get closed,im not saying it will but it might

Sam Z
Kain from Legacy of Kain.

Eclipso
It shouldn't be closed, it's a different question entirely and different choices as well.

Blade is only half vampire.

Mindship
Dracula.

He's already been a famous figure in literature and film for over 100 years. None of the others will be remembered 100 years from now...except, perhaps, as literary/film decendents of Dracula.

botankus
Damn. You create another poll and still no Count Chocula or Star.

BTW, shouldn't this go in the Movie forum?

Eclipso
I only have 10 options to list. And I thought since the other one was on here it would be the place.

PVS
wtf is with all these stupid vampire threads?

botankus
It's the equivalent of going into the Off-Topic Forum and creating a bunch of threads about rational thought.

Soleran
Best vampire of all times in my opinion is my last girlfriend, she just sucked me dry!

Bicnarok

Symmetric Chaos
Does Alucard from Hellsing count?

Eclipso
Sure but I still think D would beat him.

Symmetric Chaos
D is a super vampire

Alucard has presented essentailly no weaknesses (he's had large sections body destroyed and come back)

Eclipso
Yeah I shouldve put Alucard on the list.

As far as strength and raw power goes, D and Alucard are the hardest to best.

Symmetric Chaos
Pretty much, either could take all the others solo.

Seems like a pretty even match between them though.

Deano
bill paxton from near dark

Robtard
1) Alucard is Dracula backwards, so is that character essentially supposed to be the classic Dracula?

2) As PVS said, wtf is up with all the vampire shit? Anne Rice fans running amok?

Symmetric Chaos

except D and Alucard don't have most vampiric weaknesses

plus they have extra superpowers (I'm putting this on the anime/manga board)

technically yes he is Dracula however he's been super upgraded or something

Akira99
Either D the dhampir from Vampire Hunter D or Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate OVA.
I'd say Alucard when hes using Level 0 restrictions. Nothing can actually kill him - stake through heart, decapitation - he can turn into paste and regenerate instantly and summon hellhounds and demons to crush opponent. I've never seen D show power as impressive as him - in armed combat he'd wipe the floor with any vampire but he is a half-breed so his vampiric powers are limited compared to his father Dracula

*I can't believe I never responded to this.

D killed Dracula. I think that puts him over him.

Alliance
"Enlightenment" monsters have always been bery unappealing to me.

Captain Maynard
Did we seem to forget Dracula from "Dracula: Dead and Loving it"? Staring Leslie Neilsen?

Eclipso
laughing I sooo should have put that on the list!

ThePittman
Cain from Vampire: The Masquerade

Simon Belmont
Alucard From Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night. He could turn into a poison mist, a wolf, and a bat!

LordFear
Dracula is the grand daddy of them all. Dude rules forever. where is Alucard from Hellsing?

Eclipso
Didn't have room, besides as I said D killed Dracula.

There isn't a Wiki on Aubrey himself, but there should be a description in here.

I still don't understand how you left out Alucard.

I only had so many slots open.

Eclipso
Well they did elminate around 75% of the bloodlines and they were absorbed by the top clans.

CrimsonFairy
Markus from Underworld Evolution is awesome

Council#13
I like Dracula, but Viktor from Underworld was cool.

Eclipso
I prefer Viktor out of the two he was a real good scheming bastard lol

BackFire
Selma Heyak in Dusk Till Dawn, one hot as vampire, sweet movie too.

Spike from Buffy, but he's not on here, soz . . . . srug

Lord Shadow Z
Cassidy from the Preacher comics. Perfect example of how everlasting life is fun and cruel at the same time.

Eclipso
Preacher is one of the top 10 comics in print today! w00t

TigerEyes
Lestat or Dracula,
Dracula is the literary figure of the original vampire but Lestat adds so much to the world and imagery of the vampire life..and I prefer Anne Rice's works to those of Bram Stoker...just mostly cuz Anne is more recent....but yet again Dracula will always be a classic for me.

Eclipso
TigerEyes brings up a good point, Greatness doesn't always mean most powerful.

There are so many other Vamps I wish I couldve listed but the restriction on how many made it hard to choose.

Eclipso
Oh and Lestat was cool, but Marius and Armand were better.

Eclipso
http://www.scifi-toyz.com/bmvampbox2.jpg

Vampire Batman was pretty cool as well, if anyone hasn't read those issues I highly suggest you do.

Eclipso
Also Dracula from the Castlevania series

Toku King
Gotta go with Dracula.

Strangelove
No Spike from Buffy=poll fail.

Rogue Jedi
Lestat FTW.

Captain REX
I'm going to go with Dracula, simply because I know who he is.

Rogue Jedi
Khayman, FTW http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khayman

he pwns ALL.

Powers, Abilities And Personality
Khayman's flesh is hard, smooth and white as marble, and he is no longer vulnerable to the sun's destroying rays. He no longer experiences the blood thirst either, but enjoys the refreshment and clarity it provides. He now has the power to kill humans and animals through telepathy, but will not take blood from any mortal who has made a friendly gesture toward him, preferring to take only anonymous victims. At 6000 years old, Khayman can also kill any vampires weaker than himself by telepathically igniting their combustible blood.

Khayman is generally gentle, optimistic, and friendly, inviting mortals to his rooms and entertaining them with poetry, music and conversation, although he sometimes appears somewhat lonely or even shy. Although powerful, he dislikes wanton brutality. He lives by various guises in many different places, and when he stops having fun or feels pain, he fades out and forgets who he has been. Attempts to think back to his origins are painful, and so he avoids doing so, eventually forgetting entirely.

Captain REX
Oh, Anne Rice...

Rogue Jedi
yes Best vampires of all time.

Captain REX
Not going to disagree.

Rogue Jedi
They can also fly, that's a big plus for me.

Captain REX
That's just damn scary.

Rogue Jedi
Sucks that their sexual organs are docile, but hey, it's IMMORTALITY.

Captain REX
Going forever without sex sounds... not fun.

Rogue Jedi
Apparently they feel love on a deeper level than we do, making companionship better than actual sex.

Captain REX
So... mind-****ing?

Rogue Jedi
No, its just, I dunno......More satisfying? More emotional? It's explained in the books.

Captain REX
Right, so mind-****ing. happy

Rogue Jedi
haermm Maybe. Remember Valek from John Carpenter's vampires? I always thought he was a weak nut.

Captain REX
Never saw it. I'm rather movie-challenged.

Rogue Jedi
Not a bad flick, weak vampires IMO.

-AC Depends on what one means by "greatest." Most powerful? Coolest? Most vicious? Personally, I'd wanna be one of the vampires from Blade. They can have sex, and cant they eat food and drink wine?

Alpha Centauri
In the sense of who/what is the truest embodiment of a vampire, I'd say one of the ones I named.

They're meant to be monsters, not seducers with chiselled jaws.

-AC

Rogue Jedi
Nothing wrong with branching out.

Alpha Centauri
It's not the seduction element I really have issue with, but only if it's used as a lure to feed or whatever.

All this bs about falling in love and companionship, I'm not for it.

-AC

Rogue Jedi
Why not? To me, it shows that despite being "Monsters", they have somehow retained some of their humanity. KILL KILL KILL doesnt cut it for me. Hell, even Bram Stoker's Dracula fell in love.

Did you read the Anne Rice novels, particularly Queen of the Damned?

Why though? That's what's shit.

"Despite so and so, they/he/she/it fell in love.". Who cares? Why does there always have to be a side that shows love and humanity? It's like when someone is remaking or adapting something into a movie. You always get the "We've made it more modern, sexier, funnier." remark. Why? Make it how it is.

The whole point of vampirism is to be stripped of humanity and be overwhelmed with a hunger beyond your control unless you kill to quench it. If seeing a pretty lady is enough to override such a curse, then you're not cursed, you're a pussy and I can't take said "curse" seriously. Drug addicts don't quit when their loved ones say so, why should literally cursed beings be able to ignore their desires in favour of love? It's for the girls, man.

Yes, not a fan, as I said.

It makes for a more interesting vampire. If all vampires were depicted as one dimensional monsters, then they wouldn't be near as interesting. The Anne Rice vampires, I will admit, were a bit elegant, but her writing supersedes that for me.

The Perfect Vampire IMO was Marcus from Underworld 2. He could shapeshift from human looking to...well, something other.

As I said, boring....One dimensionality. Is that a word? dimensionality?

Anyhoo, what's your opinion of Bram Stoker's Dracula? Or the Dracula from Van Helsing? Lastly, Drake from the last Blade movie?

Huh? I get your point, but what are you referring to? A certain part of the Anne Rice novels, Louis maybe?

Meh, they aren't for everybody I guess.

They're not meant to be interesting, though, are they? I can understand if you want to make an individual character interesting, but don't take away precisely what he is, which is a killer.

Drake was shit because Dominic Purcell couldn't act worth a penny. As a basic premise, he is what a vampire would be like, to me.

Dracula from Van Helsing was shit. Bram's Dracula was good, but again, due to Gary Oldman. I don't think romance should play a part.

Because they're not meant to be human anymore, they're meant to lose humanity.

Even so, there are a million and one human emotions to use instead of romance, it's sickening and for the women. No other reason is there.
