Does Superhuman durability negate Shockwaves ?

Has anyone noticed that when characters fight each other with Superhuman strength, that their fights DON'T appear that dissimilar to real life fights. For example, if someone who was able to lift about the same as Ultimate Colossus (A few thousand tons), was to hit any character who weighed less than 500kg (Which just about covers everyone), they could basically send them into orbit (In the real world). This though rarely ever happens, especially with characters who ARE far stronger than Ultimate Colossus such as Superman and the Hulk. Its pretty obvious why this never occurs, i.e. heroes' wouldn't be very heroic if they went around basically Nuking the city they where trying to save, by throwing a punch. I just think it is important to bring awareness of this to everyone in the forum, allowing for less inconsistencies during debates.

Its a weird way of looking at it... I'm not sure what "shockwaves" have to do with it...
Its probably asking a lot of writers to know in detail how beings that can't exist in reality are able or unable to do certain things we would expect if they were applied to real world understandings of physics.
As opposed to sending people to Space, I wonder why they don't just punch through people frequently. An object with that amount of force behind it is going to make the human body explode upon impact much more likely than it is going to make someone fly into orbit.
For debates it is probably relevant, although, since most heroes have a feat or two of being punched by someone who should be imploding their face, it is probably a lot like bullet dodging.

Good post, Shock waves are released when any form of pressure is released. The shock waves produced by the punches of various beings would easily flatten cities, maybe even countries.

U betcha. The same way superhuman reflexes negate sonic booms (eg, Wonder Woman deflecting bullets) or even just a strong wind.
