Greetings, I'm talking about Young to Rice. Montana to Rice. Manning to Harrison. ETC. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Mr Parker
You took the words right out of my mouth.Mine would be Montana to Rice with second place going to Marino to Clayton.

LORDSIDIOUS01
I forgot about Marino to Clayton. Great tandom

Smasandian
Manning to Harrison, only because of the records.

That or Montana to Rice.

Actually, Montana to Rice, 1A; Manning to Harrison, 1B

Lord Evolution
Young to Rice - stats and superbowl

Manning to Rice - stats and superbowls

Smasandian
How will winning affect the basis of what QB/WR tandem are better?

I didnt relize they also played defense.

This arguement is only based on records and how dominate they are. Superbowl wins have to meaning to this arguement.

If you use winning as an example of great WR/QB tandems, then you can say Brady/Watson, or Aikman/Irvin. See, it doesnt matter

It's all about the stats for this one.

And Manning and Harrison have them.

Rogue Jedi
montana to rice. no contest.

Smasandian
I think they're is a contest....what bout Manning to Harrison?

Better stats overall, and they're still not done.

And Manning and Harrison have them. First this not about defense. Second whether you have a ring or not does not matter. Just ask Dan Marino or Dan Fouts.

Do you love sticking your foot in your mouth? Isnt this the basis of your entire Anti-Manning argument?

Also Smas's post you quoted... he was saying winning rings and how well the rest of the team plays doesnt matter for this, so if you were trying to counter him you were just agreeing with him.

Smasandian
That's the personal feeling about wanting an superbowl ring. That really doesnt have any wieght about dicussions what tandem is the best. The only way you can figure out which is the best is records, and how dominate they were.

Superbowl's are won by teams, and not WR/QB tandems. Of course were not talking about defense, but when you say that this tandem is better than that tandem because of rings, its wrong. It's wrong because your not including the entire team.

So what happens with an tandem has soo many TD's, yard and receptions and no CB can effectivly defend them at anytime. Your seriously going to pick an tandem that has 2 superbowl rings over the other guys.

Why dont we use another example.

Who's the best RB ever to play. Barry Sanders? Okay, well, he's not as good as Corey Dillon, because Corey Dillon has two superbowl rings. So barry sanders is not as good as Dillon.

I'm sick and ****ing tired about hearing how great somebody is based on how many championships, its retarded. Unless, your Mark Messier, it doesnt matter. It's funny, but whenver you hear the Top 5 qb's of all time, you never hear about Terry Bradshaw, even though he won 4 Superbowl's.

Lord Evolution
You can't deny a QB/WR combo that has put up massive numbers as well as winning Superbowls.

Manning has had his chances, but he has messed up in years past in the playoffs. He hasn't been on horrible teams, every year his team is one of the best in the league.

Rice and Montana did it in the regular season as well as when it counted, and same goes for Rice and Young.

But I do want to see Manning win this Superbowl but as of right now they aren't the best QB/WR combo in NFL history.

Smasandian
I'm sorry but I disagree. Superbowls mean shit to this arguement. It's based on two people, that's it.

The best tandem is Manning and Harrison. They've already obliterated any records that anybody has had.

So they dont have one superbowl win, so if they win it this year, they're automatically number 1? That's crazy.

I've always liked Marvin Harrison. He should catch a couple of touchdowns in the SuperBowl. They are an excellent tandem who could finally get a ring.

TaZ#12
He didnt catch any thru the whole playoffs. That was really suprising.

Rogue Jedi
warren moon/ernest givins was a good combo.

TaZ#12
yeah.

Rogue Jedi
the oilers had some good receivers back then.

TaZ#12
Yeah they did.

Rogue Jedi
unfortunately, they choked like a virgin in a porno.

Grimm22
I would probably say Manning and Harrison for this decade at least erm

But, Jerry Rice and Steve Young definitely would be my pick for all time

TaZ#12
Young and Rice was pretty Nice.

Rogue Jedi
they were the best.
