The art looks phenomenal and I'd give it a read just for that.

The lack of interest shown in this disappoints me. This book will rock, if the mini was an indication and it goes well it'll probably be consistently good. Yet you people continue reading your Wolverine Origins and other shizat. Wow.

so how strong is nova now, compared to lets say surfer or even thanos.

But you shouldn't get so worked up over the lack of post. With a C lister(in terms of popularity) character all you can really do is support the book and recommend it every chance you get and hope that it makes enough sales that it last past 12 issues. Speaking of which anyone interested in reading one of the best x books out there should pick up x-factor

I'm not worked up about it lol, I really don't mind. People can read their jizzy books if they want to and miss out on pure quality.

I also read X factor aswell by the way, it rocks. Haven't read number 15 though, PAD's a legend.

The ridiculous thing in Annihilation was that Richard Rider who had fought longest in the Xandar / Skrull war needed to be schooled on War by anyone. It's just stupid. The new book should be excellent but then all his old books have been enjoyable including the early Spiderman mixed with Green Lantern plot of his 70's series.

I was never really a fan of Nova but his fight with Iron-man looks interesting...........

Nova rocks, I have a lot of his first run from the 70's, looking forward to this and the art only makes me want to see it all the more!

Nova also looks like he'll be playing a large role in Annihilation Conquest aswell, Marvel's Cosmics rock.

I've been hooked on Nova ever since his very first ongoing. I truly hope this last for years to come.

Nova would be below them still but not that far behind since he is class 100 7/7 last stated in marvel hand book. Nova would be a herlader level, Ironman is going to get his a$$ kicked big time he is going to be speed blitz the sh** out Ironman warp-speed verse Mach speed not competition.

Guarantee they will make him job to IM and not finish him off. They're building up for WWH. and it seems pretty clear they want the green man to be the one to take down Tony. Now Ryder vs. the thunderbolts, that should be a good read. Seems like kind of a curbstomp in Ryder's favor. He's a legitimate high end cosmic now, what the hell are they gonna do to him?

Extremis is high level in terms of current human level technology ... Xandarian tech is hundreds of years further ahead and is run by an artificial intelligence ... there is no way Tony is taking control over any of it.

People are totally over estimating his ability to control advanced/alien technology ... would you expect him to be able to take over Galactus' ship?

We have a slight problem here though don't we. We have seen Doom with Earth Tech, steal the powers of the Surfer and Beyonder. We have seen Stark with Earth tech face Thor and stand his ground and not even regular Thor at that. We have seen Reed... Well I think you get my point. It's down to the writers and Extremis is insane technology, let's be honest, it's a bit like in the way it changes Tony into "Iron Man" how ultimate Captain Marvel transforms. It's Stark tech let's leave it at that (and yes I know it was his ex girlfriend who invented it, I h ave the hardcover) or better still let's call it "Marvel Earth" Earth tech. Remember Tony has been exposed to Shiar tech, Skrull tech, Eternal tech, Cosmic tech etc, etc. Is any high order Earth tech on Marvel Earth really Earth tech? I think it's unlikely.

Stealing Surfer's powers isn't stealing Galactus' tech though ... in fact, neither Doom nor Richards had a clue what any of the stuff in big G's ship was for back in secret wars.

Well it required an understanding of the nature of the power cosmic, something Thanos found difficult to do in the recent mini. I think you're nit picking a little. I'm not saying Iron man can control the Xandarian Worldmind. Remembering the Sphinx with it and Nova Prime both of whom should not be as powerful as the present version of Nova I think it's unlikely and agree with you. What I am saying is you can hardly call any tech Stark and co. use "Earth tech", the Alien influences are everywhere. From Shiar tech in the Danger room to everything in the Kree/Srull war, Kree/Shiar war etc. Lets be honest if Forge can back engineer Roms nullifier etc. What do we think Tony does when he comes across Alien tech. The guys faced future villians and in Marvel a future society in an alternate Universe, "The Stark" built a matriachal space conquering society in two generations based on his pre Extremis tech.

I never said that he would be able to completely take over Richie or even understand fully what he's tapping into. Just using simple ABC logic. If Nova utilizies tech, Iron Man controlls tech shouldn't Iron Man be able to generate some sort of interface?

And honestly, its up to the writers how they want t portray Extremis. The fact that its not clearly defined leaves a lot of room for interpretation. In the last Iron Man he tries to overide a gun but the techisn't advanced enough. Maybe once it reachs a certain level of sophistication he can "jack in". What he can accomplish when jacked in remains to be seen

According to Stark written by Bendis in Mighty Avengers The greek god of war would require six of the strongest avengers to take him down including sentry. Pretty funny considering Ikkaris has beaten him before. He also claimed Sentry was an Avenger in trianing and didn't know how to use his powers. It certainly looked like that as he stalemated the collective and Genis for a while and melted Terraxs axe. Do you think anyone really has a clue what "Sentry Level" is.

i imagine paul jenkins. if i recall, BMB came under some small scrutiny for his amateurish portrayal of the sentry. seeing as sentry regained all of his memories in another issue penned by bendis, wouldn't it follow that he would be the most experienced hero on the planet? moreover, bendis also said he was going to make ares>>>thor.

i believe that BMB doesn't have a clue what he's doing, he's just writing what feels fun and right. this might explain the seeming lack of continuity even within his own runs.

Yup, I think since his Image "Powers" stuff, Bendis has truly gone off the boil.

No, it's not. He's powerful, but in terms of versatility and feats, the heralds are way over him.

Now, that may change. He prove to actually be in their league. At the moment, it's a wait and see thing.

The day Extremis can take control of Thanos's tech, or Celestial tech like Prosh (Poccy's ship in the old days), etc, is the day I burn a few issues of IM. Let's be real, Earth tech is great for where it is, nobody denies that. General level is quite below most alien tech. Couple of people like Doom, Reed, etc, are over most alien civilizations, but that's not a general view.

But as good as it is, there are some kinds of technology that just dwarf it. And IM's tech isn't the best on earth by a good stretch. Doom's is better, Reed's is better, most of what Forge can do is better (not sure if that counts), Poccy's is better, Ultron's is possibly better (debatable, but the tech is at least comparable), and a few others.

I remember an issue where IM patched into some kree technology..

Didn't Nova pre Downlaoding the entire Nova Corps whoop Fire Lord ?

I think Bendis dropped the ball with the Sentry. He wrote Sentry as regaining his memories, even though everyone else had lost their memory of him then we get a mini by Jenkins which portrayed Sentry as very much in control and experienced but now we revert back to Sentry who is comparable to a Young Avenger. His power level should be around Superman imo, he went toe to toe with the Collective, obliterated Absorbing Man and Terrax, etc. I think he could stand a bit of a depowering or at least establish something other than mental attacks as able to stop him. It'd get pretty annoying to have Sentry only able to be stopped every issue by someone mentioning the Void to him.

As for his portrayal of Ares he said that he would write a way that Ares can beat Thor, not that he would make Ares more powerful than Thor. I don't think he was trying to imply that he's gonna amp up Ares in any way. And that statement about Iron Man needing six strong guys isn't a testament to Ares strength. Wonderman is stronger than he is. But he is the god of war, is battle savvy and relentless in battle. I would go into a fight with him without knowing for sure that I could take him down.

And to get back on topic, Nova rocks. Hope we see him intergrate himself onto Earth

I know that the heralds have better feats but that dont mean that Nova is less powerful, silver surfer has better feats then galactus, IE killing tenebrious and aiegis pure PIS but none the less he's always had better feats then his boss.

Which was no true, but you used it as an example for why Nova could be as powerful, or that it wasn't good logic.

Second issue isn't out yet, I got the first one and it was pretty good.. He returns to Earth at the end of the first, Iron Man and him shall be having talks in the second presumably.

So I'm really starting to like Nova.

The Thunderbolts fight could've been more satisfying, but I guess they needed to get him off-world in a hurry to play cosmic shuffleboard with the Annihilation crew.

anyways, what was the context with the fight? Why would they fight in the first place? Man, I was really hoping that Nova would fight sentry.

who said i wanted them to die i just wanted there butts handed to them not like it hasnt happend before in a super hero comic, and they where already fighting why didnt they just let the fight end with a winner instead of allowing tony to show up and stop it.

Nova came back from Annihilation and wasn't registered. Stark gave him a day to think it over but he bumped into the T-bolts in the meantime and they attacked him for not being registered.

He was clearly in control of the situation and any time he seemed to cut loose the T-bolts got thrashed (Venom, Radioactive Man, Penance, and what's-her-face). But he was pulling his punches and then Stark showed up, so it was fairly inconclusive.

She even said "You're still alive, aren't you?"

Then he transferred a portion of the Nova Force to her (not all of it obviously, as she wasn't wearing the.. super-armour Rider has to wear) and he probably left himself enough so he could do the whole "heal and repair" thing.

I got into Nova recently specifically because Rich is the sh*t. I normally don't just get hooked into series like that unless I plan to, but I did.

If he's gone for good, Marvel just lost my business.

Now, I'm always in favor of alien babes with different skin colors, but this is weak. I was really starting to like Rich Ryder. They had a good story going here.

They have plenty of good books worth reading.

Hell, even in the same series, Wraith looks pretty interesting, and is an awesome read so far.

Why is every-one acting like they've never read a comic book before? He's not dead . You don't kill a character off three issues into their ongoing, when they've already failed several times at a relaunch of this title and when the character has only just managed to get a decent fanbase.

Also when Nova was transferred the entirety of the Nova Force, his armor was transformed from the Centurion varient, to the World-Mind armor because the Centurion varient of the armour could not handle all of the Nova Force. Which leads me to think that the World-Mind left enough Nova Force with Rider, so he'd have enough time to heal, because otherwise the Kree lady would have the World Mind armour.

All of Granov's covers are beautiful, if only he could manage to do an ongoing. I think at the minute, he's one of the best in the business.

Yeah, to be honest it was great that Nova had such great power and was one of the heavy hitters, but I knew it wasn't going to last. I guess this is the start of the Nova Force 'rebirth'.

Meh, I don't know. I think only Nova, and Kree chick will be part of it. Although, she'll probably be killed in the main story, and Rich will go apeshit all over the Phalanx's.

Yeah, I don't enjoy this book as much as I did his Annihilation mini (which IMO was superb), not saying this is bad though.

Atleast the art's better.

8 is just setting things up for the next book.

It also seems to imply that Nova lives through Annihilation at least (unless this happens after Nova escaped).

it does,and it will run along side conquest,i dont think novas gonna be involved ,in conquest much though, this arc is supposedly gonna run for 4-5 issues.
