I was one who was hooked on LOST after it came out on DVD.

So when I started to watch it on tv, I was disgusted by the number of commercials there are! Were there always this many commercials? Mother of God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess they're just trying to keep people interesting during the long break...

No, I'm talking about the comercial breaks while the show is on, not comercials for Lost.

Yeah i watched the first 2 seasons on dvd and watching it on actuall tv sucks.

Waiting a week for each episode and the commercials are just not fun.

I think that goes for any series that one is really interested in.

I haven't noticed Lost having any more or less commercials during its showing than any other show.

here in the UK it's not too bad...the only one that annoys me is the very first one...

It's all TV.

Not just Lost. Every show during primetime has commercials.

i've notice ever sinced that i moved from England to America that over here there are way too many commercial breaks over here.

I never paid much attention to this until last night. It was ridiculous.

Hmm, I live in England but I watch them online first and I have Sky+ so I never watch them on the sunday night. I watch them online on a Friday and then record them on Sundays and watch them about six times throughout the week. I can just fast-forward through the adverts (thats what we call comercials over here) so they don't really bother me, but I can see how they could.

Get a DVR/PVR so you can skip through the commercials like me

Or you can always watch them online the next day if it really bothers you... It's hard for me to wait until the DVD releases cause LOST is a show about secrets and they always seem to find they're way on to the boards...

You cant skip live commercials though, only if you tape the episode then watch it.

The commercials are just as bad as anyother tv show.

I usually just wait 15 minutes before watching a show so I can "rewind" to the beginning and have enough time to skip through the commercials before catching up to the live broadcast.

But yeah, the commercials on LOST aren't any worse than other shows. Did anyone watch Grey's Anatomy last week? Christ, there was a commerical every 5 minutes...

It's all in the perception.

All shows follow the same rules as any other show in primetime hours. You just notice the commercials more when your watching a show you like.

Well at least here in the UK what we get for our liecense fee is all programme

I hate commercials.

Commercials are annoying, would be easier to just record it and then fast forward through the commercials

I really can't stand commercials, they have to much power over TV shows and movies these days IMO. You can't even go to the theater these days without commercials or stream some movies online.

Commercials are a fact of life for TV viewing.

Cant stand them? Get a PVR, or TIVO.

If you cant afford them, too bad. Commericals gvies us cheap TV.

yeah, i dont know why there needs to be five minutes of television. I rarely ever watch network television for that very reason. I dont even watch football as often as i used to because of the bombardment of commercials. Thankfully, hockey still has a very small amount of commercials.

I usually just go online and watch the shows im interested in through their sites. I only have to sit through one commercial every ten minutes when watching shows online. If i watched much network TV i would just get a tivo so i could filter the commercials out, but most of the shows im interested are on HBO. As much as commercial frustrate me, i will be even more pissed off when we start having to sit through advertisements online. I suggest just watching TV shows online

Regular tv, meh, dont really care. It happens, and will continue to happen.

Baseball is another sport on where there isnt alot of commercials.

I really like how they only show one 15-second commercial at a time when I watch shows on Hulu. On the other hand, some companies don't use their advertising dollars well there... some show the same 15-second commercial during every break in a show they are sponsoring, even if it has like 5 breaks. One of them (Ragu) not only had a really boring and kind of stupid commercial but showed it over and over and over and over again. It directed us to some website of theirs, which was also really badly conceived of and boring. I don't usually do this but it was so annoying that I spent about 20 minutes emailing them to tell them everything they were doing wrong.

But usually it's nice to have such short commercial breaks I like fast-forwarding through them on the DVR, too, because I can stop for ones that look interesting (rare but it happens) and get to the rest of the show faster. It's gotten so that we almost never watch shows live anymore because waiting through the commercials is so painful!
