You can't edit it, do anything to it, etc. Even if it were acceptable, slapping text on it, she should have given credit.

No. The internet is not public domain. People should be able to show off their work without fear of it being taken and used without their permission. Something is only considered public domain if the copyright on it has expired.

You are completely and totally missing the point. Public domain is a legal term referring to things that can be used without worry of copyright infringement as the copyrights have expired on it, or it was never copyrighted.

And it's not discrimination. The person who made something and owns the copyright is the sole person allowed to decide what can and cannot be done with it. If he decided he only wanted it used on the official board then that's perfectly within his rights. If he decided that only people with blond hair between the age of 10 and 18 that can quack like a duck can use it, then that's his call.

DeviantArt, from what I make of it, gives the artists who use it free will to either make it public or make it privatised by copyrighting. However, it doesn't change the fact that the artists who do choose to copyright are still in danger of getting their work "stolen" from them.

It's kind of ironic, isn't it, showing off your work to whoever and wherever around the world and yet still snub by telling them not to use it.

It's like beating a dead horse, in my opinion. If someone does decide to use it for their own purposes, if the artist wants to make such a flappy deal about it, for three capital letters and a word in this case; then it's probably not worth putting on the internet in the first place.

No, in Canada we have a thing called the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. That's really all I have to say about it. If he singles me out, then that's unfair.

I just did. It is exagerated. But similar reasoning. Therefore an acceptable comparison. It doesn't hurt the person quite as much, doesn't seem like a decent justification.

It's not their fault, but it's still reality that they have to cope with. If they can accept the risk of having it plagiarized then it's their decision and no one should tell them different. If they blithely ignore it and act indignant when it is, no one should tell them different.

That's not right to say either. People are entitled to their opinion. Although I can sense some complete and utter dislike towards the TFT. It didn't take the "Busters" thread for me to realize that, but I'm sure it edged over some.

I don't think that's quite fair, to be honest. Because I refuse to 'handle' the bullshit doesn't mean I'm incapable and shouldn't mean I was never right for the group... you're proving various points against you by saying something like that. Almost as if, to be a part of TFT, one has to have certain characteristics and strengths.

I am aware that this is not your intention but you should also be aware of how some comments may be construed. And before anyone says that I'm jumping sides, I'm not. I just think it's a pity things had to end up like this and I don't want to be caught in the crossfire.

Social groups should be just that, social. Not elitist or geared towards making some people feel ostracised and others elevated.

I dont think would attract so much attention if there wasnt 50 threads made for it....the social thread is good enough...maybe the badges....but these 'extras' could just go into one of the others srug
