These two chicks music sound kind of similar IMO, London Bridge sounds a little bit like Holla Back Girls! Both of their careers sky rocketed after going solo! Who's better looking? Who's music is better to you?

I tend to think Fergie gets a lot of unnecessary flak. I saw her on Tyra Banks' show one afternoon, and she's actually fairly intellectual, and said aloud that she doesn't necessarily understand why she's so disliked. Kinda felt bad for her, because she's a decent entertainer.

Gwen Stefani I think has a pretty cool sound as well. Very versatile, and I still do like No Doubt. They've steadily evolved, and even have a new album soon.

I'd call it a tie, as far as overall musicianship goes.

I liked No Doubt. I've hated BEP ever since Fergie joined and they sold out. Both of their solo careers are the equivalent to a Peter Griffin diarrhea session. I'd go with Gwen just because No Doubt was decent.

No Doubt > Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani > Fergie

I always advise liking whatever you like and being open about it, regardless of other opinions, but Cine, sometimes there's a line.

Don't put the names Fergie and Gwen Stefani in with "Decent" and "Musicianship" please.

Fergie deserves to actually have her face torched for that London Bridge song. I'm talking, full on Hostel.

London Bridge sounds more like "Wind It Up" than "Hollaback Girl"...

Both "Bridge" and "Wind It" piss me off. Very contrived sound (M.I.A. and Missy influences abound), and extemely market driven fluff.

Having said that, I kinda don't mind when they come on the radio...if anything, some great production on both records. As a product though, these girls are more or less just out milking their much superior bands' success (although I'm sure they both have their own "vision".

That "Cool" song by Gwen's pretty much the only decent thing she's done I think.

Fergie WILL be gone tomorrow.

plus Stefani has now made a track with Akon which in my book is nearly as bad as someone interfering with "the kids"

Fergie on the other hand is/was a member of possibly the most irritating band ive ever had the misfortune of hearing/seeing so her solo stuff is switched off before the intro starts so thankfully i cant comment

I dislike Fergie's music whereas I very much loved Gwen Stefani's album L.A.M.B. even though it got old fast. While I haven't heard her second album I have heard Wind It Up and The Sweet Escape. I didn't mind Wind It Up even though I thought she was trying to hard with it whereas I really do like The Sweet Escape. I'll probably pick up that album somewhere in the distant future. Anyway, I think Gwen Stefani wins by a mile. I love No Doubt and she has had a good solo career.

BEP weren't much of anything before she came along anyway, were they? Her role in the group is minimal, anyway.

They've gone from having an album that was critically praised to "My humps, my hum-my-hum-my humps.".

Has their music changed much? I'm asking, not hypothetically, because I never really listened to them back then. If not, then we shouldn't confuse "selling out" which suggests it did change, with "marketing".

It's kinda like people claiming they sold out with the Best Buy and iPod commercials. Last I checked, iPod plays music, Best Buy sells music, and BEP makes music. Besides, NBA is no different than any other form of marketing to a massive amount of people.

Stefani at least is "solo".

They might not have been all that well known with their first two releases but who cares, they were artists who made good music unlike now.

Listen to Like That or anything off of their first two releases. Then listen to anything that has Fergie in it. I can hear quite a difference, as one is making quality music while the other is making uninspiring shit.

As a fan, you don't want to be one of those people who likes to keep them in a box and hope they dont change their sound, but keeping moving and evolving, but with them, its like instead of taking a step forward they took a step to the left. Even I'll admit though, when you see all those zeros on a paycheck, it kind of makes hard to say no. I don't know if they all sold out, i noticed Taboo dosen't really do to much rapping. And from what i've heard he plans to make a Non-Proft Art School in his hometown for children, i mean i really can't call that selfish when you use your money like that.

Gwen Steffani should have stayed with No Doubt, and Fergie is just hideous, I don't get this whole trying to be English thing.

Plus her single is called London Bridge but has a picture of Tower Bridge on the front. Just a little niggle. ermm

well idk i like them both but i like Gwen Stefani better just because she has her own style.

Fergie ruined Black Eyed Peas. Don't get me wrong, she's good to look at, but when a group as artistic as BEP gets a shot of "commercialism" it completely ruins it. The desired result from the execs who dreamt up that whole idea was to get Fergie's solo career going. Now they've done that, poorly I might add.

As for Gwen, she, at least, has talent(as evident from her days with No Doubt). Again, her going solo was the "brilliance" of some exec somewhere. Her solo carreer is taking off.(just because people buy her albums don't make them good) I hope there is No Doubt reunion though... she's too talented for the trash she's putting out now.

I could tolerate some no doubt tunes in the beginning. 1 point Gwen.
