in england, you can:
drink at 16
have sex at 16
drive a motorcycle at 16 (drive a car at 17)
Firearms are illegal without a license, which can only be obtained after 18
You can get a shotgun license at 16 I believe but I think you can shoot before that if you're with someone with a license. You can't drink until you're 18 though, unless you have it with a meal.

I refer 16 yr olds and over as being more adults, near enough.

In private you can drink from the age of 4, you're no where near an adult at 16, you can't even drive a car then.

Yeah, the legal drinking age is 18, I heard they were gonna bump smoking up to that as well.
