I just read Spawn #164. What is apparently, the last issue. Looks like Mcfarlane finally ended the series. And, I don't want to spoil it, but be prepared to drop your jaws in shock. There's a big secret, something that changes the whole perspective of the entire series.

I'll let everyone read it for themselves. Incidently if you haven't read the preceding issues, read them first. Because this last one is the wrap up to the 4th age saga. The link has all the preceding issues as well.

that was a solid last issue, except for the last line. "al simmons, the man who saved the world...but couldn't save himself."

that's some garbage right there.

actually, **** it. that was crap. the twist had no precedent, it really seems as if mcfarlane pulled it out of his ass as a last ditch effort to make the ending "interesting".

Al Simmons killed Wanda's baby by punching her in the stomach when she got pregnant. Wanda was going to leave Al after his last mission, which he never came back from. He used to hit Wanda. The reason his suit kept making him look evil and like a monster, the reason he made the deal with malebolgia, was because subconsciously, he was blocking the incident out and he wanted to be punished.

he recreated everything now he has to deal with the things he's messed up like bringing back the clown and now hell wants people cause hell was locked up and stuff like that

I hoped for a better ending storyline if you guys know what I mean. I mean it was okay and everything just I wanted to see more of angelic spawn.

I guess I was the only one that was shocked rather than thought it was stupid. They had to end Spawn's desire to return to Wanda sometime.

For those that don't know, Spawn #165 is taking a break from the story for a month. It's still a good read though. Spawn #166 should take us back to the story, see where he goes from here.
