Characteristics

Height: 6'11"
Weight: 425 lbs (192.8 kg)
Eyes: Red
Hair: Blonde
Skin: Chalky White
Unusual Features: Omega Red has chalk-white skin. Implanted within his arms are long coils made of carbonadium, an alloy that resembles adamantium but is more malleable and considerably less resistant to damage. Omega Red can cause the coils to shoot forward from openings in the undersides of his wrists in order to ensnare his victims. He can also use the coils as a conduit for his lethal pheromones.

Powers

Known Powers:

Carbonadium Coils: Omega Red possesses coils composed of Carbonadium in both of his arms. Carbonadium is a cheaper, more malleable version of Adamantium. These coils are highly resistant to damage, although not nearly as durable as Adamantium. He can release these coils and use them in a whip-like fashion, causing great devestation to whatever he hits with them. Omega Red is also capable of using these coils to ensnare targets, restraining most individuals easily due to the durability of the coils.

Life Force Absorption: ability to drain the life force of other humans to sustain his own. Omega Red can do this by ensnaring his victims within his tentacles. At one time the carbonadium in his body had the effect of slowly poisoning him which caused him to need to drain life forces frequently. This is no longer necessary but he still retains the ability to drain life forces. The more life force he drains, the stronger he gets and the faster he heals.

Death Factor: ability to emit lethal pheromones from his body (death spores). These spores result in the weakness or death of humans in his near vicinity. The severity of the effect is based on the endurance, health, and relative proximity of the victims. Normal humans would be killed in a matter of seconds of exposure, while a being with a heightened endurance can withstand it for minutes or even hours.

Superhuman Strength: Omega Red is superhumanly strong and is capable of lifting about 10 tons under optimum conditions.

Superhuman Durability Via Armor: Omega Red wears a suit of bright red armor, composed of an as yet unknown material. This armor, which covers most of Omega Red's body, renders him highly resistant to injury. He once withstood an energy blast from the mutant Chamber, that propelled him a distance of several miles without sustaining injury.

Superhuman Stamina: Omega Red's muscles generate considerably less fatigue toxins than the muscles of an ordinary human. He is capable of exerting himself at peak capacity for about a day before fatigue begins to affect him. However, he can use the energy he drains from others to enhanced his stamina even further.

Superhuman Agility: Omega Red's natural agility, body coordination, and balance are enhanced to levels that beyond the human body's natural limits.

Superhuman Reflexes: Omega Red's natural reflexes and reaction time are enhanced to levels that are beyond the human body's natural limits.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Omega Red is capable of healing at much greater speeds than that of an ordinary humans. He has proven capable of healing from deep slashes and puncture wounds within a matter of minutes. However, he is able to use the energy he drains from others to enhances his healing powers to higher levels.

Known Abilities: Omega Red is also an excellent hand-to-hand combatant and military tactician, having defeated foes such as Iron Man and Cable. He was trained in various forms of armed and unarmed combat by both the Soviet government and various organizations throughout the Japanese underworld. Highly intelligent, he has quickly become highly skilled in the management of criminal organizations.

Miscellaneous

Equipment: He also wears a suit of red retro-Russian armor. This armor is sufficient to enable him to withstand being assaulted by Wolverine's Adamantium claws without injury.

Transportation: No known transportation.

Weapons: Omega Red possesses retractable tendrils housed within his arms made of carbonadium, an artificial alloy that is the former Soviet Union's attempt at creating adamantium. Carbonadium is more malleable than adamantium and, while being vastly stronger than steel, is not as durable as adamantium. Carbonadium, however, is for all practical purposes virtually indestructible. Omega Red is able to use the tentacles as highly effective offensive weapons, often brandishing them like whips during combat. The natural durability of the tentacles, combined with his physical strength, are sufficient to cause devastation to just about anything they come into contact with.

Notes

* Due to his mutant "death factor" Omega Red must drain the life forces of others in order to remain active. However, if he found the carbonadium synthesizer, he could use it to synthesize carbonadium, the only metal that can neutralize the "death factor," thereby stabilizing it within his body.

that's all for now. I'm still trying to find all his appearances.

History:

Omega Red is a Russian mutant formerly employed as a "super-soldier" by the country known previously as the Soviet Union.

Little is known about the past of Arkady Rossovich except that he was a serial killer, most likely in conjunction with his "Death Factor". He was captured by the Interpol agent Banshee and turned over to the KGB, which wanted to create a super soldier similar to Captain America. Omega Red is the end result.

The Soviet government implanted one retractable carbonadium tentacle within each of Omega Red's arms. Carbonadium was the Soviets' attempt to recreate the artificial alloy known as adamantium. It is a more malleable form of adamantium. He uses them as weapons and as grappling appendages. He is able to a wrap a victim in his coils to literally drain them of their life energy. This vampiric tendency was once essential to Omega Red's survival; the carbonadium implants, while great offensive weapons, slowly poisoned him and he was required to regularly drain the life energy of a person, or perhaps taking small amounts from larger numbers of individuals, in order to temporarily sustain his immune system.

In order to stabilize his condition, Omega Red requires the "carbonadium synthesizer," a device that was stolen by Wolverine, Maverick, and Sabretooth during their final mission together as "Team X" sometime during the 1960s. It is because of his need for the carbonadium synthesizer that Omega Red has continuously sought out these three individuals over the years, believing they may know of its whereabouts.

At some time in the past the Soviet government decided that Omega Red was too unpredictable and treacherous to be relied upon, and so needed to be put in cryogenic suspended animation until a method could be found to control him. After the fall of Communism in Russia he was released by the clan of ninja known as the Hand. He was led to believe that Wolverine knew the whereabouts of the carbonadium synthesizer which could save his life, and sought him out in an effort to find this device. In doing so, he came into conflict with the X-Men many times. Later, Omega Red battled and fell under the mental control of the Soul Skinner in Siberia. The Soul Skinner then used him to battle Wolverine and the X-Men. Omega Red captured Wolverine and Jubilee, but escaped after the Soul Skinner's death. He has also fought against Chamber of Generation X, but suffered a humiliating defeat. Ultimately, Omega Red failed to eliminate Wolverine and proved to be no more loyal to the Hand than he was to the Soviet government.

Omega Red served Matsuo Tsurayaba, who revived him from suspended animation to capture Wolverine. Omega Red defeated Wolverine and brought him to Tsurayaba. Omega Red had previously battled Wolverine, along with Maverick and Sabretooth, thirty years earlier when this trio tried to rescue double agent Janice Hollenbeck and the carbonadium synthesizer.

He has worked for Neocommunist organizations and tried to kill a member of the Americomp organization, but was stopped by Daredevil and Black Widow.

Omega Red was later employed by Russian gangster Ivan Pushkin to incite a war between the subversive terrorist organization HYDRA and the technology suppliers A. I. M..

Most recently, whilst working for the drug lord known as the General, Omega Red was recruited by Sabretooth to attack Wolverine's friends and family alongside Lady Deathstrike. Sabretooth had promised both Omega Red and Deathstrike information on almost every mutant on Earth, but betrayed his new henchmen by teleporting away with Wolverine, his ward Amiko, and the information.

Eventually Omega Red found a means of eliminating his need to drain living beings of their life forces to survive. He is currently a crime lord (head of the Red Mafia) who poses as a legitimate business man, much like Wilson Fisk does in the U.S. At present he seems to have lost interest in Wolverine and is more focused on activities that indulge his greed and lust for power.

Omega Red also had a brush with the Generation X team, was defeated by them, and disappeared.

Since then he has been seen leading members of Russian criminal groups and is one of the few mutants to retain his powers after M Day.

Omega Red recentlly followed Wolverine to Maverick, still seeking the carbonadium synthesizer.

scans I say!

Red get's my full respect, but doesn't get alot of panel time

Technically, Red is controlled by the soul skinner in this part, but he is still capable of this. Defeats Iceman, psylocke, wolverine, and jubilee. Note that his control by the skinner negates Psylocke's attack. One page was skipped, but it's just Cyclops angsting over Jean, Nate being infected with the TO virus and Stryfe. So, no one cares. 😛

Still hunting down Red's appearences.

Omega Red is my favorite Marvel villain. 2nd all time next to Joker. I hate how he doesnt have that many appearances and gets the shorter end of the stick at times. Marvel needs to include him in more stories in the future.

Well heres my input to the thread. Omega Red takes a hit from Colossus from behind and quickly recovers. Also notice how Colossus is unable to break free of Reds hold. Lucky for Colossus, another contender came into play.

Here, Red lets his Phermones go. The interesting thing here is how fast it travels and apparently he can direct/control it considering it didnt harm the kids.

Here Red shows a bit of speed in catching Nightcrawler as soon as he "Bamf's" in.

Omega showing some durability. Hit with a bazooka. No effect.

Oh yeah. Red is a beast.thumbsup I'm glad I started this. Thanks Jrod. 👆

Heres his fight with Iron Man. But first, he beats up M.O.D.A.M. With him using his Death Factor, her mental powers are ineffective as he states.

Now with his fight with Iron Man, Tony is controlling his suit via mind waves so hes not in the suit. Had hed been, Stark would be dead. Red puts a hole through the armor.

Np man. Omega Red is the man. I bought a few of Wolvies Origin books just for him, only to have Red in about 2 books.🙁 That blew.

A bit of agility as well as durability imo. Red is in a plane over 1,000 feet in the air. Hydra soldiers are leaping out via jet packs. Red gets word of Maverick being there and decides to jump out with no jet pack or parachute.

Finally an Omega Red respect thread.
I always liked him keep those scans comming.👆

Omega Red is a badass for life...Keep this thread coming...

Im trying to come up with as much as i can, lol.

Heres Red resurrection. Notice that his Death Factor is activated when the hand ninjas touch him. They turn to bone and ash. I always thought he had to apply it, but obviusly not. Makes me wonder how Wolvie or whoever punches him doesnt automatically lose life energy.

Also take note that the guys wearing the masks still get effected by the Phermones.

Wolverine: Origins.
Red takes out some shield agents. Nice speed/reflexes feat imo. Blocking bullets with the tentacles? Sweet!🤘

I know it isnt 616 canon, but heres one of his appearances from the X-Men animates series put into a comic. Nice feats here. Squeezing Colossus and draining him till hes ko'd. Manhandles Wolvie and has a tank thrown on him by Rogue. Red then throws the tank back with 1 hand. Continues to manhandle Colossus and Wolvie.

Red later got jumped and defeated by the X-Men. No need to post that.❌

Damn why doesn't Marvel use this guy more? He's like the perfect Wolverine enemy.

Yeah I know. He's the only guy I've ever seen Logan's healing factor fail against. 🙁 Btw, I'm pretty sure Logan and Maverick haven't fought post Maverick's last upgrade.

I guess they dont use Red much because hed have to job pretty much every fight. Omega Red is pretty honorable and he can easily win fights against the likes of Wolvie, Sabes or Maverick if he actually applied the Death Factor to kill them. When hes done it to Wolvie, it was only to briefly just to knock him out.
