The Carnage Cosmic is an ULTRA powerful supervillain who nearly killed over twenty superheroes.
He has a FIST directly rooted up into his ribs and it does nothing to him whatsoever.
"Thor quickly threw his hammer at the Carnage Cosmic, but the Carnage Cosmic wrapped the hammer in symbiotic webbing and transformed into a giant spike heading back to Thor's hand. Iron Man managed to use his repulsors to break the symbiotic webbing, returning to use of Thor's hammer. After Captain America kicked the creature, the Vision phased his hand through the Carnage Cosmic's chest and attempted to solidify. When he did so, the Carnage Cosmic altered his own molecules to generate intense feedback into the Vision. Before the Avengers could rally themselves, the Carnage Cosmic blasted them all to the ground and flew off to create for mayhem."
The Silver Surfer ended up gaining slight control after the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and a few others attacked the symbiote until it retained minimal damage. THE ONLY WAY it could be stopped was for SS to throw himself and the Symbiote into the sun, effectively killing both of them.
Any kind of ability past flight he manifested can be directly attributed to whatever was left of Surfer. It seems kind of silly that Carnage could take him over when Surfer has will out the wazoo, not to mention he could just incinerate Carange with some kind of omni-blast.
Anyways, Surfer's always been a gnat to Thanos and I don't think turning his fists into maces and meleeing will help him accomplish anymore than he has in the past as his regular self.

Well then that's just PIS. Surfer can EASILY survive going through the sun.
