Introduction
Captain Comet (Adam Blake) is what you call a throw-forward, a man born 100,000 years before his time. He first appeared in Strange Adventures #9 in 1951 and to this day still makes appearances. Recently in the new Mystery in Space series, Comet dies by the hands of Lady Styx and is eventually resurrected into a brand new younger body with completely new powers and abilities

Awesome thread. I've been reading Mystery in Space and wondered what he was like before that.

Yeah I'm not even a half way done with this thread, I got most of his old appearances and working on posting all his L.E.G.I.O.N apperances first.

Well I underestimated Comet, I just finished reading all his apperances in L.E.G.I.O.N and R.E.B.E.L and down right shocked with his feats. Such as physically manhandling Lobo and teaching a caveman intellect race to be civilized and have their own interstellar space program in just 6 months. I'm compiling all the scans now, man I love doing respect threads for characters so unknown

Great respect thread!

The new Captain Comet (Mystery in Space) is one of My favorite new comics, from the art to the writing, the comic is Great,i started right from the begining and i am hoping his own ongoing comic is not far behind when this ends

i am 36 and i will admit i am not an expert on him, i always enjoyed the comics ive read with him in it , i think if i remember correctly he goes back abit, great job so far!

Edit....Wow! 1951, i thought i read about him as a kid !

Definetly agree prior to the new Mystery in Space I knew nothing about him, but since then I have tried to pick up all his stories. He really has become one of my favorite chracters.

I truely hope he does get an on-going, as throughout his career he has he can hold a book on his own.

As am I, he's an awesome character

His apperances in L.E.G.I.O.N are the best I have read thus far. However, if you want to pick up every issue he has been in, I have yet to read any Strange Adventures or Secret Society, but check this out Comic Listings

About to be killed by the Weird, Comet mind-probes Weird mind and contrary to what he says here he has done this in the past as well as shown with scans in this thread. Anyways Comet binds Weird with mental restraints and fixes all the Weird's memories and purges all the telepathic manipulation did to the Weird earlier.

Awesome thread, KM. I was hoping you'd put up scans of issue #8. I especially liked it when he trashed the robot army.

Did anyone else notice Orion on the last page? I thought that was kind of funny.

I loved this series, but I felt #8 portrayed Comet very incorrectly. They actually made him act like a teenager, but as mentioned he retained all his past knowledge.

Also yeah the New Gods are going to make cameos in basically all the DC books. I guess for "Countdown".

I noticed that when he was fighting the Weird he says "dude" a couple times and calls him "frito banditio" which I thought seemed a little hokey.

He seems like a really good character to use in a series that's focused on DC's space characters. I'd like to see him run into Lobo, the Manhunters, the Sinestro Corps. or something.

He was actually on a team with Lobo..and he kicked Lobo's ass, but yeah apparently Comet and Weird are going to be players in the DC universe now. Well hopefully.

You are making me go and buy back issues with his appearences,Is there anything you Advise i pick up? I'd pick up an ongoing of him. Especially if it's of this quality. Maybe going back and forth between spacefaring missions, and then some on the station as well.

I'm having a hard time tracking down his old appearances which have his best feats.

I'll try to keep plugging away at them.
