Lana is in the Daily Planet building meeting a reporter, whom she has told she has something very important to discuss with him. Before she can get to the reporter she is shot. While lurking around the hospital trying to see how Lana is, Clark overhears one of Lex's investigators tell him it was one of his guns that shot Lana.
- Chloe & Jimmy do some investigating of their own. Lois also snoops around.
