Cleopatra Returning to Hollywood

For the first time in more than 40 years, Cleopatra's life story is coming back to the big screen.

Pulitzer-prize winning author Stacy Schiff is currently at work on a script to bring the Egyptian queen to theaters for the first time since Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton starred in their famed 1963 version. The original had a running time of 193 minutes and at $44 million dollars, is still considered the most expensive movie ever made, when adjusted for inflation.

Along with writing the script, Schiff is doing double duty by releasing her own biography about the queen in 2009.

Columbia Pictures has secured the film rights.
