What does everyone think? which is more user friendly, or business oriented?
which has more pros and cons?

PErsonally, i go with apple. HAd a pc my entire life untill about six months ago. I will never own a Pc again. It has been more of an experience owning my macbook than an investment, as pc owning always felt like. Calling tech support for my apple is like speaking to a friend. They dont make me feel inferior by dropping terminology that i should know. Havent had any problems with viuses or pop ups, itunes is a joy. Granted my macbook suffers a bit in comparison to specs, but not in way that i have noticed in my usage.

I have loved my PC and have never had any problems with it. PCs have more pros.

On a different note, wouldn't PC apply to Macs too?

what makes pcs so much better? I have yet to come across anything that i cant do on my mac that i was able to do on a pc. .mac is better than any program that windows offered for me. Able to start up an in depth website in minutes, one button file transfers, the iphoto is amazing aswell the movie making programs.keynote and pages offer me everything word did, but a little more while being easier to use

dont need to ther is a left click function on my laptop. Everything is drag and drop. unintstalling programs is so much easier. Instead of going through uninstall steps i just drag to trash, or click move to trash. once it's moved to trash and erased thats it. It isnt floating around on my hard drive somewhere.

again, my computer usuage is that of an average user. I know that if i were some kind super hacker or technical user. A pc would probably be the way to go. However the new macs comming out are becomming comprable in specs

This only coms down to the same argument that Linux is better than Windows.

i.e. you can make some fair points, but bottom line is it isn't supported enough. There is a huge swathe of stuff I like to do on PC, especially gaming wise, that Macs can't do.

Also they are horribly uncustomisble and pricey.

lil bitchiness
Yeah.

Writing a dissertation on Mac is time waster. No customsing, no spell checker no nothing.

If you want to make pictures, movies, etc, Mac is great, but for other computer related activities - it is not.

Furhtermore, NOTHING is compatable with it. If something goes wrong, or you need a new cable, or a mouse, finding one compatable with Mac is a mission among missions. And some are simply not Mac supported.

Not a fan. Although PC has its cons, I believe it has more pros, than Mac.

.

How can you say that? the .mac program is nothing but customizable themes, from personal website, to files. I can share anything on my mac with another mac user just by clicking files send. the keynote and pages program allows me to do anything business related that i was ever able to do on windows. From choosing themes, templates, slideshows, audio presentations, to numerous graphing and mapping options. Spellcheck is on every program that i have. These programs are also much easier to use than anything on pc, atleast to me. Everything is virtually one click dummy proof with video walk throughs on every program.

I'm not trying to glorify apple as being a superior machine, just trying to understand what pc allows me to do as an average user that apple doesnt. The one major flaw that i have found is the program compatibilities. This however seems to be changing at a fast pace as more and more software programs are integrating mac.

When something becomes faulty on a mac like hardware. Finding a replacment is very simple. Just go to circut city or a macoutfitter. Ithink the biggest con to apple is the tech support. Those people are so friendly, and speak english

I agree. Linux is the best platform, if you know how to use it.

I hate the way Macs are organized, there is no easy way to organize things and your desktop looks like a whorehouse. They entire company runs itself on the fact that its not a PC...if Apple hadn't invented the iPod, they'd be under....again. There are plenty of problems with tmacs. My professors macbook froze and destroyed itself during class on Wednesday.

Finding that power button may be hard for some users, thats why Macs spontaneuosly turn themselves on and off for you.

The only thing I admire about a Mac is it's apparent 'Lack of Virus's'.

Other then that , their just a pretty paper weight.

I prefer PC. I also prefer AMD over feckin Intel. Sucks for Intel that Microsoft optimized their now OS for AMD and ATI hardware.

I feel sorry for mac having to switch to Intel also. I at least had respect for them when they used the G5s

I don't understand youse people. Since I've started using Apple, I've come to the conclusion that Windows is a complete bunch of shit. Also, using the Mac OS is just so much fun compared to the laborious Windows.

That's because you're a fruitcake who can only handle a one button mouse. Can your little "Apple" handle the lesbian-bestiality-midget porn my PC can handle?.. Didn't think so.

Mac user instructions - press "on" button to turn on

I havent looked at the latest mac stuff, but does it still take them almost half a year to get current graphics cards that are mac compatible?

BackFire
It's no secret that MACs are superior for somethings, such as film editing and the like.

That said, not having a second mouse button is fundementally broken as far as I'm concerned.

Plus, too many PC games don't come to Mac until later, and are very hard to find when they do come out.

Plus, I hate the MAC commercials.

doan_m
Given the equal pricing basis, Mac's always do better when it comes to things like film editing(as is what backfire mentioned) and making 3d graphics. However, when applying said pricing basis, PC's always outperform the Mac's when it comes to gaming.

As for me, my personal preference is the PC, due to the greater flexibility that is had with desktop environments on a PC. One of the things I do like for the Mac is the dock that is available at the bottom. I love it so much that I actually have two of them on my windows XP. Here:

PC > Mac, 'nuff said.

Plus, tryign to build an Apple from scratch is f8ckign impossible. PC is easy, I built my last five or six PC's from scratch.

~Flamboyant~
Right now, I use a crap PC that still uses Windows 98. My friend recently got a Mac. I fooled around with it a bit, and I must say that it is a little more fun to use than a PC. For my purposes now, a Mac would probably be better. Not sure about when I got to college though.

I will most likely be:

Majoring in Aerospace Engineering: Not sure which is better for this
Minoring in film: Mac is definitely better for this.

PC

I've seen a Mac crash for quite literally no reason. My PC always has a reason that I can correct for.

Tptmanno1
I personally, am a Mac person..
And the one mouse butten thing is a load of crap. You can buy mice with a second button and whatever you want, and it works just fine. Its what I did...
I wanted a mouse with my laptop anyway. And even then all you need to right click, is hit control and click instead.
Its not really a problem.

I have a PC with XP and one with 98.

The 98 is still faster (although admittedly it has no internet connection and no viruses on it)

Macs are nice, but really, I prefer PCs; Macs are just way too expensive and not customizable enough, and it's very hard to find games for them.

Of course, if I had stuck with my original major of graphic design, I'd probably be using a Mac almost exclusively now...

Tptmanno1
True.. Although I do love my Civ 4 on mac... Works well too.. So far no problems.
And I have the Wii to play games on! So I'm good in that department.
I also have customized my mac to my liking, you just have to be a bit more knowledgeable about what your doing...

What's all this about having only one button on my mouse? I've got 2(!) and a scroll thing in the middle. It's lovely, and it lights up blue. As for porn, I like it. Was that a question? No, but that was. No, not this...that.

Personally I enjoy my PC. I think my windows skills are good enough. Yes sometimes it is a *****, but overall it works quite well. I also hear a lot of complaining by people about viruses and spyware but I never had much trouble with it. It's not like I'd really die if I lost most of my data anywayz.

I retract my statement.

HIV causes leetness; AIDS causes 1337|\|3$$.

Mr. Sandman
I've had a PC forever, and am posting from one right now. It works. But it's bland and boring and it's a pain in the ass. Everytime I use a Mac in my web production class I like it more and more.

My next purchase will be a mac, and I will partition the drive and install Vista solely for gaming.

FeceMan
Windows is bland and boring...whereas Macs are unique and exciting! And Linux is like an orgasm in my ears, it's so freaky awesome!

I can understand, now owning a MacBook Pro for a few months, why people fall in love with Mac.
