SnakeEyes
Pretty self-explanatory.

Just tell what books/short stories (etc) you'd like to see made into films.

Feel free to expand on this too, as in, give reasons as to why you picked what you did, which actors you would pick for certain roles and who you'd get to direct it.

Have fun with this and be detailed!

porno by irvine welsh...(sequel to trainspotting) and for that matter, "glue", which porno is also the sequel to.

Drowned world also by Ballard

Dusty
The Belgariad by David Eddings

I would have to say Druids..... anyone who hasnt read that book and is a fan of olden days lore should read this book. It's very moving.

MildPossession
Good call on the J G Ballard books.

Strangelove

Cory Chaos
Mein Kampf

Mr Parker
Red Storm Rising and Cardinal Of The Kremlin by Tom Clancy.Damn those lazy bastards in hollywood for not getting off their lazy butts to make these into film projects. mad

the unlimited dream company

SnakeEyes
Bump, keep em coming.

Strangelove
I've been reading too much non-fiction or political books lately, I'm lost on some stick out tongue

scampett94

Though I don't think it could ever be pulled off the way it should be, I would love to see House of Leaves turned into a movie.

angelsoutfield
Well there is one coming up next week that I really can't wait to see. The book The Cure has been made into next Friday's Extraordinary Measures(the book is also based off a true story).

I read this book years ago and now that it's a movie I can't wait to check it out, plus my job has tons of promo material for the film since we are doing the campaign for CBS Films(we're a marketing company).

Dr Will Hatch
I'd like to see "Glory Road" by Robert Heinlein made into a movie. David Fincher or someone of his ilk could direct it, and have some really good screenwriter try to adapt all the internal monlogues.

RocasAtoll
World War Z. They're supposed to be making it now, I just hope it gets finished.

Max Brooks. Mel Brooks' son.

Rogue Jedi
Books by Matt Reilly: Ice Station, Temple, Area 7, Scarecrow

Books by Stephen Hunter: Dirty White boys, Black Light

It's a fantasy. This guy goes around the universe fighting dragons and trolls and all that after he leaves the army. It's really good, especially the dialogue.

Lincoln Rhyme
I'd say Cell by Stephen King. even though it would probably be the most disgusting film ever made.

SixShooterRebel
Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker would make an interesting movie.

Shey Tapani
Machiavellis Prince adapted as a guide for dictators or something like that.

Abso-freaking-lutely.

Also the first few Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind (eventually the series started dragging on a bit... - but the first few books blew me away when I read them). There is a TV series about it, but it's total crap.

Dream Park, by Larry Niven and Steven Barnes.

Anything by David Gemmell, but specifically the Druss, Skilgannon and Waylander books.

Some of the Wild Card stories - preferably with Zelazny's characters in.

The Spenser books, by Robert B. Parker- specifically the ones with Hawk in (yeah, I know there are some old ones - but they weren't very good - and please don't allow Tom Selleck near the movies - he's not a very good Jesse Stone!)

SNOW CRASH by Neal Stephenson!!!!!!

They should redo Man on Fire by AJ Quinnell as well, and this time stay true to the book and not give it that wimp-out Hollywood ending.

Hmm, that's all for now... ;-)

MildPossession
Just think, you could have had Eli Roth making it at one point.

I doubt it would. A genuine and true adaptation of American Psycho would completely destroy anything else in the disgusting stakes.

It would make Grotesque look like the Teletubbies.

It would make Grotesque look like the Teletubbies. True,Patrick was one creepy dude, they say he is one of the most popular killers in history, like Dexter Morgan.

Kazenji
I'm guessing Comics are allowed or is that only limited to the Comic book movies part of this place.

Mr Parker
with they would get off their asses and make Tom Clancys Red Storm Rising and The Cardinal Of The Kremlin into movies. anybody else would like to see those novels made into films?

Mr. Rhythmic
'Pretty Boy' by Roy Shaw.

The Nuul
Robert Jordans; The Wheel of Time

But its very long!

Nephthys
Elric of Melnibone would be interesting. Anything Eternal Champion related on top of that would be great. They'd probably fck it up though.

Darth Martin

An adaptation of this autobiography would make the definitive street gangster movie, IMO.

Selphie
I'd like to see Stephen King's It as a better movie.

(I know it's technically a 'mini-series', but c'man, you know what I mean)

Mark Question
The Wolf's Hour could be a fun movie... And American Gods and Blood Meridian.

Mindship
Ringworld, by Larry Niven.
Flux, by Stephen Baxter.
Dying Inside, by Robert Silverberg (but updated).
Vendetta, by Peter David.

MooCowofJustice
I was a fan of T. A. Barron's Lost Years of Merlin series. His website has had a short article about a possibility of a movie for about a year an a half or so, at least, now.

Wouldn't mind seeing "Gil's All Fright Diner" by an author who's name I forget, but I question whether it would make a good film.

Some of the Jasper Fforde stuff would be good for sure.

speaking of which I would like to see Christine made into a tv mini series like It was cause I liked the movie when it first came out,but when I read the book years later,I felt the movie could have been so much better than what it was so I wish they would make a tv mini series out of it like they did with the shining which they should have left alone on that one since the movie was so good.

I'd like to see "Bad Men" by John Connolly made into a movie, or any of the Charlie Parker novels by Connolly, wouldn't mind seeing some of the Prey novels adapted either

That ACDC Chick
id like to see a few Sarah Dessen novels turned into movies and The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl would be a great one as well
there's also Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie among others

Really? I'm yet to read Porno, but I heard something about Renton getting buff and learning martial arts in case he ever meets Begbie again and other such odd things. Seemed rather lame.

Agreed. It would be epic.

I also would like to see a Lovecraft movie perhaps Call of Cthulhu or On the Mountains of Madness. A movie based on Gaiman's Sandman series would be cool as well.
