We all know that Magus was stronger then Thanos prior to his first Death. But he got a power boost after he came back.

Can Magus defeat that version of Thanos?

There was more than 1 encounter between them...I'll see if I can find it.

Regardless, Thanos wins. Back then he wasn't fully developed as a character, and nowhere near the same power levels.
