Roy Jones Jr was a beast in his prime. He had unbelievable speed and reflexes. As good as he was Ali would be too big for him though. Ali was unbelievably fast for a heavyweight, and while Jones is very quick as well Ali carries a natural heavyweight's frame. He'll have power as an advantage and with his quickness he'll be able to hang with Jones Jr. This couldve been a great match with two big egos clashing.

Jones wouldnt beat Ali due to the size disadvantage but to say he was underskilled is a bit too much. Jones Jr in his prime would run over Tarver and Johnson. I doubt Jones Jr ever had a great chin but he was so quick and his reflexes were so sharp that it was incredibly hard to hit him in his prime. Yes he wasnt really tested in his division but he was the pound for pound king for a very long time and he has a win over Hopkins and Toney.

ok...perhaps unskilled was a bit far...but he definitely got caught up in his own hype and his own celebrity...Ballard in the matrix?...what was that all about?

this is just not even worth debating, roy jones wasnt a heavy weight ali wouldnt even need to fight him. A lot of lesser heavyweights would mop Roy Jones. Yea he stepped up and beat john ruiz once, but im sry that doesnt qualify as anything.
