Jason Redfield
I've been thinking about a superhero I created. The name is Vanguard (his real name being Jason Redfield). There are two stages to the hero.

At first, he's more of a loner, and possesses no real super powers. He uses guns, as well as edged weapons, and is a skilled martial artist. In this normal human stage, he often teamed up with Blade, the Punisher, and on occasion, assisted SHIELD. He was known as the Vindicator.

However, during an encounter with an enemy (not sure whom yet, probably Supes), his mutant DNA emerged, granting him powers he never knew of. These powers are based on plasma energy. He is able to send out beams of plasma in beams and blasts, generate shields, and to allow use of his trademark "plasma fists". An essence of plasma energy surrounds his fists, allowing him enhanced strength and damage in unarmed combat. When he is the Vanguard, he also has enhanced durability and regenerative powers, as well as limited levitation, although they're not anything special when compared to those of other heroes.

Shortly after he discovered his mutant DNA, he contacted Professor Xavier. He joined the X-Men loosely, assisting them on occasion.

He is known only as the Vanguard when his mutant DNA takes over in times of need. His eyes turn a bright, piercing blue, and his body glows. He is learning to control the Vanguard energy more and more.

But don't think that just because he got some new tricks, that he's laid down his guns. Since the energy isn't alwaysalways at his command, he still carries his weapons. However, when he faces an enemy which proves to be bulletproof, and the Vindicator isn't enough, the Vanguard'll be at the ready.

Feel free to post about the character with your thoughts, suggestions, etc.
