when peter bitchslaped mary jane, half the people in the theater i was in started cheering and applauding lol. of course i found this completely hysterical and that kinda made my night. hehehe

there were some other moments which were meant to be sincere, tear-jerking and poignant which drew a completely adverse response from the audience. for example toby's hilarious facial expressions when crying. when harry died it was dead silence until the camera went to spidey and all of the sudden people were cracking up...similar to the sylvester stallone phenomenon, i take it.

was it like this for everyone or was i just sitting among an especially insensitive audience? there were other parts where similar adverse reactions happened, but the moments escape me.

when the British woman reporter had her supposedly sad monologue.....there were snickers left and right

SpyCspider
oh when Harry and MJ kissed...someone screamed "puta!!" (Spanish for whore) followed by "oooh...cheaterrrrr....skank! Ho!!"

yeah, same here. then again i smelled a bit of intentional satire in that part

Micheal_Myers
My audience was just fine.Pete's face while crying was funny, but I held in my laughter the scene was too touching for me to lauch.

Spiderman_RJ

I just had my mate sitting next to me saying 'When are we gonna see the bad guy..that creature thing, I need the toilet...when's he gonna propose to her'....he shut up in the end

he really said this? out loud? i would have found another seat as pretended i didnt know him.

steverules
I was close to doing so believe me, he's got a really loud voice so it was annoying cause he kept distracting me...he was acting like a child, and he's a year older..you'd think he would be a bit mature

I felt bad after I saw what scenes the crowds were cheering at because after the screening, I saw Sam Raimi walk out of the theatre with his family, no joke.

dude, same here, did you happen to see it at the grove cinema

No one really laughed at inappropriate parts in the one I went to. I went at night the 12 as well so most of the people were in College so it was surprising. The only laughs at a bad time was when Peter put his hair over his eye and went Emo. I dont think it was meant to be funny anyway.

what kind of theatre were you at blink

steverules
A spanish one from the sounds of it

People found the Bruce Campbell bit funny, I thought that was a well done scene

Spartan005
The people in the theater I went too were hysterical in most parts (in a good way) The part with emo peter dancing down the street was soo funny laughing

God I loved that part laughing out loud

steverules
My friend started imitating him down the street, he even did the pointing at people thing

Darth Jello
I just saw it with the wrong person in my group (the loudmouth smartass who never ****ing shuts up until the guy behind him punches him in the occiptial lobe). Basically this is the same guy that kept making smartass comments and giggling during schindler's list until i punched him in the balls.

atharpina
i had most of these same ones when i went. except when harry died and peter cried. people actually reacted well to that (awwing and stuff)

also, people keep complaining about the parts where peters emo and like dancing and pointing and stuff, i thought those parts were hilarious. and they were meant to be right? i think raimi realized that those scenes were over the top and just decided to go all out. i personally liked those parts.

That was one of the best scenes, infact you could put it in any movie , and it would still be funny. Im not sure if thats a good thing confused

Same thing happened here , everyone was calling MJ a whore in every language at my theatre. And they pretty much laughed at all those awkward scenes that ruined the movie. There was that very prominent feeling in the atmosphere of " I cant wait till this movie is over".

Peter wasn't 'emo' you freakin' idiot.

People laughed when he turned up at Harry's mansion with his fringe. My friend turned around and yelled "Shut up and watch the movie!!!"
I knew they were thinking emo, I'm so ****en sick of that word!

When Peter hit MJ, a lot of people gasped.

What is "emo"?

steverules
I think it means emotional, Pete Wentz from fallou boy said it was...least I think he did. It's someone who hates life, cuts themself and wears black...I'm not gonna lie I am slightly emo, I mean I don't cut myself or wear alot of black but I do hate life

spencerspider
My theatre was quite funny..before the movie started at the midnight show some dude asked a girl to marry him. everyone clapped when she said yes. and when MJ kissed Harry someone yelled out "*****!" and everyone laughed. and tons of people were crying when Harry died

steverules
Yeah that was me...gettin married next week...first the darth vader costume and now the marriage, what big movie you gonna see next Spence??

Stealth Agent
dude i had this obnoxious fat ***** 2 seats downm from me. She took up 2 seats and was laughing her ass off at the gay little commercials that came on before the movie previews. Like normal commercials you see on tv

n da ***** was annoying man, when she thought something was remotley funny shed bend over stomping the floor slapping her thigh. i wanted to shoot her.

steverules
Why didn't you? or you could just yell 'SHUT THE F*CK UP YOU WH*RE!!!!!'

Willaume
laughing out loud

You should have just told her to shut up.

steverules
Isn't it hard to that when your trying to watch a film and this fat lady is next to you laughing really loudly slapping her fat wobbly thigh??

Same with me. Almost to a T, as a matter of fact.

the_satan32
There was a lot of laughing when Peter (with the black suit) started walking on the street and acting "cool", that scene made my day. Also when Parker hit Mary Jane, me and my friends started laughing, hoping for more (hitting). We all hate Dunst.

My response to "Peter smacks MJ" scene was to whisper to my friend, "Dude, he's like a ****ing ninja. You can't sneak up on him."

xNIXSONx
when Sandman's daughter came into the scene, people laughed...sick people...

people laughed at the death of harry...and when uncle ben died too...

the best part was when my other friend started pointing and laughing at the emo bangs and commenting on how bad they looked...

This guy has his hair buzzed and shaved so short in front it looks like he's balding combined with a chin strap that gets progressively patchier after it passed the top of his ear. I've seriously seen better haircuts on automechanics in porn flicks
