I would probably vote Punisher.

Other candidates include Black Adam, Wolverine, Batman, etc...

Black Adam isn't even close in my opinion. He's done two cool thing in the past fifty years and those were ripping Father Time's face off and poking Psycho Pirate's mask through his eyeballs.

Anyway. I'm not sure who the pinacle of totally badass is to be honest, though I would like to nominate Thanos and Lobo.

This is why I think Punisher is the biggest badass:

1) he's technically a good guy...thus his methods make him stand out more than if he were a villain, which we would then expect his ruthless tactics

2) he has NO powers whatsover...not even Cap's serum. Just guns and a killer 'tude. It's easy to be a badass if you are invincible and superstrong against your enemies (ie Black Adam) but it takes balls of steel to be so ruthless when you're just a normal human

3) his motive: avenging your family's death is certainly more compelling than fighting for justice

Well there's loads of badasses out there and most of the badness would come from the level they fight on compared to the disadvantages they face but, I don't care how much power you have taking on both Heaven and Hell, simultaneously at that, is the ultimate form of badassness. I challenge anyone to top a feat like that in the badass department.

As for McFarland I have never meet him personally but my buddy Ben who works for the Chandler newspaper in Arizona where McFarland lives had a interview with him, that is where I found out more of his personality. This was just before he hit is big with Spawn and got the movie deal.

Ever since my dealings with him I refuse to support him, I don't by his comics, toys or his movie. I saw the movie but I actually paid for another one and snuck into the theater to see it.

The movie wasnt that good, could have been better.
