I'm fine with this just so long as we don't just kill them. Use their deaths to stimulate the economy with some sort of betting or gladiatorial games. Also you should make sure to recycle the bodies into a food or fuel.

I enjoy the company of my Granny. She's a right laugh and she's nearly 90. She's not dependant and she lives on a pension she earned. There are some annoying old people (a lot). But, I can think of more annoying chavs I'd like to see eradicated.

I can see where the argument is coming from, its just insane. A cutoff medical service age is in itself is a farfetched proposal, let alone killing people at a certain age. Now, giving the elderly second priority in medical service line is another thing altogether. In fact, that is mostly already being done.

When you turn 70 I can predict the future, and KNOW you will be a hypocrite to your own cause and scrap the whole idea.

And your brother should stop Drunk driving because it is HIM and all those that follow the same example that are wasting the Health care industry.

Just because they are old doesnt mean they are in a vegetative state. My grandma is 85 and she doesnt have a wheelchair or a cane...she swims half a mile at the pool 3 times a week. and I cant swim half a mile straight, shes in better shape than me and shes happy considerably.

And I think so too. PRetty much everything he said is what I was going to explain aswell. Not all elders are in bad shape but the ones that are get help now days if you have not seen. Ill give you some programs.

I think that we should designate Texas as a housing state for the elderly. After one reaches the age of 70 they are then transported to Texas to live out their days. I think Texas is more than big enough to house all of the elderly. this way people will feel younger and wont fear death as much because they wont see old people and be reminded that we are going to grow that old one day.

Given his past, does that really sound like a man you would want to put down because he is a burden?

Irrelevant. The theory is that people should be killed because they are a burden to society now. If he would still contribute to society then you are right he shouldn't be put down he doesn't so his past really isn't a good argument.

The fundamental problem with such a statement is firstly, that it not only extends to seniors but it also extends to those who are considered "disadvantageous" based on what our society would dictate. It would also reach out to those who are mentally disabled, and those who are in a irreversible comatose state (a vegetable if you will). Now all those people, should we just honestly just kill them off because we find them an economic burden. ?



So what you are saying is that a persons right to live should be based on whether or not he makes his contribution to society? It is suffice to say that were such a law was to be condoned then our ethnics would be so blatantly clear: Our hearts would be in our wallets first then they would be in life.

If old people are put down then their money whether it's inheritance or stocks, bonds, CD's, 401K's...etc. should all be burned. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

If they are very ill, suffering immensely, or are so helpless they need to be taken care of twenty four hours of the day then yes. Nobody should have to live like that. But life is precious, and nobody should be denied that.
