I hear they are equals though DS apparently beat Izaya once. Were there circumstances beihind the win?

Also, what exactly does the "Alpha Effect" do? If Omega Effect erases you...does the A-Effect make you? *shrugs*

I suppose they are, but from what I've seen, Darkseid tends to be more powerful....though don't take my word for it. I haven't dipped into the New Gods well enough for a full judgment call.

At one point they were equal, but Darkseid easily eclipsed him after awhile. And Darkseid has beaten Highfather several times.

There is no 'Alpha Effect'. the OE's opposite is the Astro Force (which isn't quite as powerful, but still packs a mighty punch), which is wielded by Darkseid's son, Orion.

Okay. The DC fan thorgirl ro whoever it is said Highfather has this Alpha Force which is a counter to the Omega Beams, not the Effect. What's the difference?

And name these several times. I've only heard of one.

they are equals...from my understanding the alphs force is another word for the astro force, and i dont believe that either is more powerful than the other perse, however the A-fiorce comes directly from the source wall so it is limitless..when the big planet spilt and resulted in what is now apokolips and new genesis...for the fisrt few centureies there was a feirece battle raging...in fact izyaya was a fierce warrior who showed little mercy, but after millenia he lost his taste for war, and chose to be his ppl's spiritual leader instead

Both had their ups and downs. Darkseid been the villain gets more spotlight and gets more action than Highfather. That is why you see more feats for Darkseid than for Highfather. Each have their own respective capacities. Highfather communicates with the The Source while Darkseid can manipulate the ALE.

It really is a 50/50 but because Darkseid is always in action he is seen as the strongest. But when it comes to pure evil in the DCU....Darkseid is all powerful above the others.

Couldn't Highfather also shoot "Alpha Bullets" which could restore someone erased by Darkseid's Omega Beams?

No, the Astro-Force isn't the OE's opposite, they are both of the same dark or evil energy from the source.

IMO, the AF is a bit ...more dark because, unlike the OE, it can only kill things. No fancy teleportation or paralyzing beams, it just kills anything it touches.

according to feats they are not equal in war of the gods or genesis it took highfather with four other skyfathers to enter the source wall while darkseid did it by himself.
