The movie everyone can agree on?

Wolfie
We all have our own choices of what we would call the best movie of all time. And there are those that would say they don't like it.

Do you think there's a movie that everyone can agree on liking? I doubt it.

What do you think is the movie most people like?

You're the 1st of like 76 women who's told me that "The Notebook" sucked. The rest loved it. I never watched it and never will but i just assumed it was a chick flick, and it was, and it's beloved by countless women, i'm sure. Just not by you. Interesting.

Good luck getting everyone to agree. Mine would probably be the Godfather Pt. I and II. However, I could definitely find a lot of people who hated that movie.

It's a three-hour long action film, it's based on very thin material and tries to stretch it into that run time. I had trouble staying awake, it's not just overrated, it's terrible. Probably one of the most annoying films I've ever seen. It's violence for the sake of violence, and just because Scarface has been deemed "the epitome of man" or something, I'm supposed to like it? Again, **** that.

My opinion on Home alone:
What the fawk. What a piece of family-friendly, commercially viable, boring, substance lacking, piece of garbage. I can understand liking it for nostalgic reasons MAYBE, but as far as movies go ,piss on this fakwing turd. sick

PLEASE EXCUSE MY DOUBLE POST.

I don't see how it is violence for the sake of violence, when the movie is about a drug dealing and murderous man. Personally I do not like it because It is ultra-violent. Further more, I dont think Scarface is the "epitome of a man", on the contrary I saw his character as a degenerate. To me scarface was a movie about some greedy, violent and power hungry man, who stepped on everybody only to die a violent and well deserved death.
Not everybody is a base and shallow arsehole, I actually think that this is a good movie. But I can see how some arseholes do give it a bad name saying thing likes "It's the best movie ever", when even Depalma has films that were so much better.

Its a spoof of the Western.. its set in the early 1870's and is about a man called Hedley Lamarr (thats Hedley) trying to make residents of a small village move out so he can buy the land on the cheap to lay a railway.. so he gets the Governor to appoint a black sheriff named Bart (Cleavon Little) in the hope that a black sheriff will offend the residents so much thata they just leave.

Attempt at comedy? Weird, philosophical thing? Pedantic understanding of on average includiong people that don't know films?

Ushgarak
No, just that people's ability to loathe films always appears to be much higher than their ability to like them. They certainly hate more than they love.

Trying to find any form of consensus is useless.

I'd vote for Godfather. It's as close as we're going to come to a universal consensus. I'd venture to say the percentage of thumbs' up for this picture is 99%.
