Part od Parasites powernis absorhing life force and because of this he absorbed the life force and with it intellect of a scientist. So not sure how you get the idea he isn't "sharp"
Also want to know why people think parasite needs to touch to absorb power. Hes done it from afar for decades. All he has to do is see what he wants to absorb.

Creel would be too weak to do anything, if Parasite becomes him. Parasite prefers powerful characters, of course, but he's also able to drain normal humans of their life force.

Parasite can drain pretty much anything. And he doesn't even need to touch you to win, as beatboks pointed out. When he drains you, he actually becomes you, right down to your DNA.
