"I eventually just emailed Joe Kelly, asking him why dimensional barriers were being shattered and why Earth 2 was destroyed in one book and not in the other and he confirmed what I was saying:

When Superman and Superman 2 are in proximity to one another, crazy stuff happens - as it did for anyone who got too close to their "other." So as a combination of that fact and the amount of power the two were exerting against one another, their histories "swapped." Our Superman "grew up" in a 1950's style world and "Superman 2" grew up in our world. Ultimately, each one believed that the other's world was sick and corrupt, but discovered that they could not "fix" the other's world, and in fact made things worse.

This all happened in flashes during the battle, and in the end were "fragments of reality" not the actual history of either universe -just memories shared by the two Supermen."

End excerpt from superherochat.

Taken from Primetime from SHC.

UniOmni's thoughts

I swear the explanation Kelly gave for the effects of the Supermen fight from IC are pretty much the exact same reasons i gave.

Time travel/Alternate version scifi shit 101- When you're in close and constant contact with another you, reality goes bonkers and begins to unravel....

Since two different wavelengths are constantly rebounding off one another.

I remember saying that it was because it was two versions of the same guy, and people disregarded that and took the hyperbole as fact.

Masses-" Superman is strong enough to punch through dimensional walls and break the barriers of time and space. This is stuff beyond Thor.

Masses - Superman was breaking down the barrier of time and space in his ic fight with Kal-L. He's easily the strongest top tier there is.

Me - You're reading too much into it. Whenever two different versions of the same character come together, stuff like this happens. See Superman and Ultraman for a similar result.

Me - This wasn't a feat accomplished through strength alone. What happens when he fights someone else stronger than him? Will they always destroy reality? No, becuase it wasn't based purely off strength. Anyone who's read/watched any scifi related material would understand this.

Me - IC was basically Alex mukking with the multiverse, and Superman and Superman fighting on a planet, and reality starts to unravel during their fight. I might think i was responsible myself, but we know it was Alexander behind it all.

Masses - You're a Marvel biased fanboy who loves to downgrade the feats of Superman. MArvel WHORE!

Me - Whatever man, i know what i read.

Debunked.

If the dimensions are already weak it only takes a bit more to break them down.

Or the other interview, where they said if Superman didn't snap out of it when Doomsday was vaporized, he would have soloed Imperiex Prime and been done with it. Because Superman having no limits is the best way to write him.

F%ck i hate Superman.

heh. it's always been pretty clear to anyone that has read superman in any length that there really can't be PIS attributed to the character. he can frankly, do whatever the writers want him to do. some will write him as more human, others, as more than god.

you take what you get when you open up a superman book. like it or not, he is simply different from every other character. personally i wouldn't have it any other way.

Strange...it says here BOTH things are happening. Shattered space and time AND swapped memories.

I would have expected better from you...seriously. If you really want to go by "OmG! De WrItEr SeZ!" then by definition... Superman has no limits and is the most powerful character. Here is Joe Casey's "interview."

Inconsequential stuff.

I didn't make this thread to take away the validity of the fight.

I only made it to show people that i wasn't reaching, as i was said to be doing.

The feat stands since it doesn't say anything about the multiversal mukking being behind the fight, and interviews don't change what the panel says.

Superman is strong enough to break the barriers of time and space.

But Uniomni is smart enough to see the whole picture.

And lol at Imperiex Prime being a credible threat to Galactus if Casey had done things his way.

I doubt you got any response from him even if you did E-mail him. Comic book writers usually denounce what they consider fanboy questions, especially in respect to comic book 'vs' match ups. I spoken to Kurt Brusiek on various ocassins and he hates this kind of thing. I bet your one of those guys who would do anything to win a debate, even pretend they where a writer or something.

Why is referring to the Joe Casey interview, whents its Joe Kelly Mister Uni, is referring to ? The two oppinions are completely different, as one is a half decent writer who was on Superman for many years, while the other writes total crap.

UniOmni
Who writes total crap?

Casey or Kelly?

Cuz while i think Casey goes a little too gaga over Superman types, he was great on Wildcats 3.0.

And i did pretend to be a writer at one time, and it was all done in humor.

I didn't email Kelly tho. My post says who did and what forum they're from.

Joe Kellys stuff is usually on the ball (That was until he started writing Supergirl).

You can't squeeze a diamond out of a hand full of manure.

The way Supergirl was shoehorned into the DCU was awkward, and the issues Loeb built up with her cousin are even moreso.

I thought Loebs stuff on Supergirl was actually quite interesting, and the Darksied Arc is one of my favourites. I hate it how everyone bad mouths it because of how the Darksied Superman fight went, as if that type of crap actually matters.
