I think people are confusing the opening of The Declaration of Independence with the Bible.

Point is, what makes him so rightous, so revered, and so pure. Anyone could lead a pure, sin free life, and die for the sake of another(he died for our sins), but if someone did they wouldn't get anywhere near his renown.
