Actually, about that sniper... apparently he is using an AK74. All that hype about civilian sniper courses, and highly-trained ex Green Beret guys and what not, and he's using an assault rifle!

He's a good shot, no doubt about it, but he's no sniper; when this first started happening they made out he was killing people from half a mile away with a high-powered rifle and scope; as it is it is probably more like 100 yds, all the more embarrassing for the poor police.

How he GOT an AK74 is another question, but if he is talented he wouldn't need any specialist training at all to do what he is doing. He just needs some basic firearms knowedge and to be patient.

So a bit of an example there of how misdirection and paranoia can have people blaming the wrong things...

Well, I have to admit...I liked that "Without me" song. But that's it so far.

i try to apreciate artists from all walks of music. there are some rappers who i think do have talents. just not eminem. he hasnt really dont anything all that great, his videos are somewhat amusing usually, well the ones that are funny, the ones that are meant to be sad or deep about how hard his life has been are just stupid. wow, he didnt get along with his mother, boohoo. but as you said, the music is what counts, i just dont see what he's done thats so amazing, alot of rappers make beats and raps, much better then his i think, so i guess they have more talent.

Well if you're talking about one rapper v another then I can't talk because I'm not a rap fan and they all seem the same to me. And I still wouldn't say he's "talented" compared to other musicians.

pop is more of an acceptable comparison then classical, as both pop and rap are in the same basic category, simplist type of music to make. hence all the artits that are in those categories.

and as far rap being no less music then other categories, i disagree, for the simple fact that much less goes into making a rap song then the other genres you listed, basically a rap song consists of, a 5 second beat looped over and over again for 4 minutes, a little noise repeating every so often, and some rhymes. tahts why rappers come out with albums every year or so, cuz the songs are so simple to write. now compare that to what it takes to write the other types of music, i think classical would be the hardest and there is no repetition usually, and rock requires several instruments working together to make a song, plus lyrics. of course, lyrics in rock usually arent any better then lyrics in rap so i wont argue that point. but the bottom line, go listen to one of the best rock bands out there right now, say tool for example, and then listen to one of the best rappers and you tell me which you honestly think takes teh most talent to write.

my friend can write rap music. quite of few of them can. they cant write rock music. rap is easier to write then rock.

Well, I'm no expert but I would not be surprised if the quality rap that actually gets sold well has nuances to it that are not immediately obvious that make it more difficult than it seems.

Yes Mah I have heard the song dont like it, it amuses me when this " tough" guy trying to be mushy. Most rappers these days are both singing and rapping all mixed together. They seemed to have moved away from the original way when rapping was more of a talking rhymes accompanied to a funk beat.
Then they started to use more or less very well known musical works for their background music. (Rundmc actually helped Aerosmith to a comeback by doing so) This still goes on with a lot of artists that has turned into be known as the style of hip hop.
