Figured this was the right place to put this.

Well, I'm working on my own manga, it was inspired by Dragon Ball Z but no, there are no magical dragons that can make wishes & bring back the dead. The powers are similar but that's all that will probably be similar to DBZ. My main character, Sadiki, is pretty much outgoing & loving & although he does love a good fight, he doesn't like to fight too much. He lives with his adopted mother & father but they never explain to him where he comes from. I haven't figured that part out yet either so no, he's not from outer space as his origins aren't completely worked out. The original idea behind the story was that Sadiki wanted to become stronger so he went on a quest to an academy where he meets up with other kids. But, the new idea is that he goes around the world looking for martial artists to teach him more & for him to increase his power. One friend he meets I'm not going to reveal the origin of because I actually like what I'm working with now & I don't want to spoil it. Basically, with my manga they'll be going from kids to adults. The manga will start with them being kids & of course, although it will end with them being adults, I haven't exactly figured out how the series will end. Also, I plan on having more depth into the stories so it's probably not going to be all fighting & "HOW CAN I DEFEAT THIS GUY?"

This manga sounds interesting. I wouldn't mind reading it when it's finished. I have a question, though. Does Sadiki fist fight or does he have energy attacks similar to DBZ?

Both but it's probably going to be mostly fist fights to differentiate from DBZ. DBZ characters aren't known for being very physically strong, something I want my characters to be.

cool, but why dragon ball? does the protagonist has any love interest? i hope he is powerful enough to defeat lucy from elfen lied (the manga version)

i've got a suggestion. sadiki wins in the end, reunited with his love ones and being kissed by the one he loves. anyway, can we see a copy of it in this page? please don't ruin your manga with pornography. i'm waiting for it and see if it can surpass myung jin lee's ragnarok

Dude, I'm not taking any suggestions at all for my manga & I haven't come up with any concept art or anything like that so you all will probably have to wait a while. Also, I never said my manga would have pornography. Maybe a nude girl or two but it won't be a habit.

Pornography is when people are having sex, nudity is when they are just nude. Big difference, man & a little nudity never hurt anyone so there may be a few nude shots but not a lot. And I'm not sure about the love interests because this is my manga & I don't want it to be all mushy & like a chick flick if you understand what I mean.

I actually haven't come up with anything yet though although I'm trying to work on this big plot that I came up with a while ago but I don't want to reveal it because I feel it has a lot of twists & turns (it's after Sadiki becomes an adult & learns the truth about himself). I feel that the major storylines will happen while they are adults which is why I may just make them teenagers at the age of 17 so that I can do more. There's only so much that I feel you can do with children, even in a fictional universe.

Actually, nudity IS pornography. Any picture of a naked man or woman is considered pornography.

Okay. So, where exactly does you're manga take place?

While they're kids it'll take place all around the world since they are on an adventure but they'll probably live in Japan out in a forest in a hut or something. That's always intrigued me as a place for my main character to live. I like Japan because it's so advanced there & A LOT of people live there.

Since there will be a team of superheroes once they become older, at least half of the team will be composed of females WITH powers.

One thing I want to have is all of the characters having their own unique power so that everyone can't do the exact same things. Another thing I'm trying to figure out is a design for this character whose origins I don't want to reveal at all.

Is your manga going to be like a henshin? In other words, would the characters be able to transform into their super-powered selves in order to use their unique powers?

Not all of the time but I have thought about doing that. However, if I do, it'll only be for certain characters. It'll be stupid & useless to have EVERY character have to transform or be able to transform period.

Any questions? Despite past problems between us I admit you have a pretty interesting manga goin on here. Even tho all I've read so far is an obvious rough draft I think if you keep at it and work hard on it you'll do a good job and make a good manga.

Before I get to work on characters (origins), how many heroes do you all want there to be? There can't be too many though.

Five heroes seem like a good amount.

That's good. Three males and two females would make a good team. I have another question. What kind of special powers would each person have? Would they have elemental powers, such as water, electricity, and fire?

Electricity & fire, yes. Water, no. They'll also have super-strength, superspeed, the power of flight (of course), & one will even be able to regenerate & become stronger.

Regenerate? Doe that mean that he/she will have healing powers?

Yes, it does & that character will also become stronger after regenerating each time.

Would he/she be able to make his/her partners stronger as well?

No, how would that be possible? Channeling energy to someone is possible but making them stronger from you becoming stronger isn't.

Yeah, but I don't want to include stupid powers either so I'm not going to use. Channeling energy to someone will be the closest I get to actually making someone stronger.

I'll be happy when I learn to draw a little better so that I draw some concept art & finally get some of these thoughts out of my head. But, in the mean time, what I'll be doing is working on ideas for the manga & today I'll be working on the characters & trying to figure out how to make them all different from one another. I really want my main character to be a flawed character as a teenager & as he grows older he matures & throws some of the beliefs he had as a teenager out the window. I have a secret character who I don't want to tell you all about now because I want to come up with a MAJOR story involving him that will shock & surprise whoever reads my manga. It'll come to me as time passes, though.

You're just all over the place and I already see a contradiction just in the opening.

Yeah.....unless you want this to turn out to be less than mediocre crap, I suggest you wait a lot of years until you're able to handle such a feat.

I'm able to handle it now, that's just somewhat of a rough draft. I'm still working on ideas & that outline is great so far.

Also, I'm not all over the place, I'm only working on the beginning of the manga which focuses on them being teenagers first which I may actually change if I can come up with something interesting.

I have five pages written for my manga & I think it's really good material but I don't want to reveal too much & spoil it for anyone who might buy my manga. I'm writing the whole first saga of my manga so that I'll already have it ready after I practice my drawing skills. I just haven't thought of a good name for my main villain for the first saga. It has to be good & fit the kind of character I'm trying to create: someone vicious & completely ruthless.

Cool. Is the main villain going to be a human or an alien?

An alien who is trying to rule the universe. His ambitions are similar to that of Freeza but he does not have four different forms & he won't be voiced by a girl if my show becomes an anime, lol. I've also thought of having Kyle Herbert voice Sadiki if I could get him to do it.

Yeah, & something really tragic happens to Sadiki, a very painful loss which causes something unusual to happen to him that has never happened to any Xerekian before....I think you're going to like what you see.

Oh & now Supernova is the official name of the villain & I doubt any changes will be made. Now all that's left is how he'll look which I'm not even close to figuring out.

I've decided to make my manga into one big story instead of having it in sagas, kinda like Naruto I guess. But I decided to make it into one big story because if there were sagas then they'd seem way too short so this is the best way for me to do it. I'm currently working on the beginning & the action kind of takes off quick. There a lot of twists & surprises that I think are very interesting.

Sounds cool. At least you're drawing it yourself. So far I've realized waiting for somebody else to draw something makes it longer to wait. So since they have ki blasts basically are you going to name them?

Yeah, but the problem is I need to practice drawing & that's totally going to be a big hassle. As for the Ki blasts, I thought of naming them but then I'd be adding on to similarities between it & DBZ. I might but for right now I won't.

Do you like the idea of the Xerekians transforming into werewolves? I actually got that idea while watching Van Helsing. I'd even like to have the werewolves look vicious like the ones in the movie Van Helsing.

Well plenty of more things name their attacks than DBZ. Actual just about every series does. Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, Street Fighter, Fatal Fury. So it wouldn't be just a DBZ thing.

Well if you have it planned out where that will further the story or just add something more to it then it'll probably work out to end up cool. Are they going to be normal werewolf types like there large but not like gigantic or are they going to grow huge like Oozaru?

Still, the names I came up with were good but I lost them & unless I can come up with some really good names, the attacks probably won't be named.

Lol, I don't want Godzilla sized werewolves or Titan sized werewolves, they'll be the size of the ones in DBZ. I'm also trying to work out a fight sequence where Supernova transforms into a monster with wings & fights a werewolf Sadiki. Yeah, it's similar to Van Helsing but I like the idea.

lol I didn't mean Godzilla sized. I meant Oozaru size or normal werewolf size. But that answers that. Is he going to be able to think like Vegeta and Nappa in that werewolf form?

Not really. Once an Xerekian becomes a werewolf, he usually just loses it & becomes wild although I may add in that they can sense who is their friend or foe. I'm debating on that though.

Either way, they'll be powerful but after he/she is in that form, they won't be able to use any type of energy beams or powers outside of their strength & speed. No flight because it'd be kinda ridiculous

So wouldn't the guy with wings and energy attacks have an advantage? A big one? Or will Supernova also loose his energy attacks?

He may be able to do but at a lesser degree because of how bestial the form will be. Basically, all of their raw power will be in those forms so there won't truly be a need for energy attacks. However, he will have an advantage since he can fly but the werewolves will have a leaping ability.

Honestly, I'm trying to figure out how to make the series long. I may go back to having individual sagas but I really want to make them longer. I know that it'll be longer when it's draw out as opposed to it just being written down but even so, it still seems too short. I want to add more twists to the story & things like that & on the first planet they land on, I want it to at least last a few chapters or so. In fact, I know what to do....

I don't want it to drag out forever, like Naruto. In fact, DBZ had everything down pact. Four sagas may be enough but I'll be sure to try to make them as long as possible. That means instead of going straight to writing down things, I'll need to think out anything I may want to add.

If you read Naruto all at once I don't think it's dragged out. I also think if so much wasn't going on at once it wouldn't seemed so dragged out. It took 360 something chapters just to figure out who Naruto's parents are...Well.....officially anyways.

Chapters are different from the total amount of issues. There are 364 chapters of Naruto but there are many more issues. Like Dragon Ball/Z had about 28 chapters total & have about 555 issues or more. There's a big difference between chapters & issues.

I'm thinking, I may just do the anime AFTER the manga ends because it'll be too much work to try to do both at the same time. Plus, more work would go into the anime than into the manga anyway.

Eh I just put chapters and issues as the same. The chapters of Naruto are just as long as comic issues. The graphic novels of DBZ and other manga just have a few chapters in them.

Actually, they are volumes with chapters, I don't want 364 chapters, just a few chapters in each volume/saga.

Well, I'm also about to gein working on another manga that is inspired by Brolly. It'll be about a boy who is trying to learn to harness & control his hidden power & he will be going on many adventures with his father. His power will sometimes overwhelm him & make him act crazy but he's a good guy & wants to learn to control his power because if he doesn't. he may very well destroy the Earth.

What do you guys think about this idea?

From the sound of that it sound more like Gohan and Broli both mixed were the inspiration. A good guy with a strong hidden power who trains with his father sounds like Gohan but the whole going crazy part sounds like Broli. Doesn't sound that bad though.

Well, I didn't really think of Gohan as an inspiration but he doesn't truly train from his father. His father is just there to help him. But they may train occasionally, it'll mostly be about the boy learning to control his hidden power. If not, he could go on a rampage & destroy the Earth.

I've yet to work on "Sacred Power" again but I have one idea I love, I want to have these ice giants or just plain Titan like characters that the heroes have to go up against. I'd love for them to be playable in a possible game that could be made based on my manga.
