Is Devil Worshiping and Satanism the same thing?

The both sound alike but do they mean the same thing? What's the difference?

Well seeing as satan is supposed to be the devil I doubt there is a difference.

See the thread I made, The Truth of Satanism. It explains Satanism. Devil-Worship is an older, more occult practice, and was predominant in the Middle Ages.

Satanism is a philosophy based religion, who don't actually believe in Satan, he is just used as a parable/metaphor for their code of beliefs.

yes its interesting they still want to use the title Satan....you would of thought theyd call it something diffrent

There are many varieties of Satanic belief, ranging from religious to political. Because there is no real consensus of belief in the Satanic community, and as modern Satanic groups tend to promote individuality, it is difficult to present one cohesive Satanic doctrine.

true words, i think people should use a diffrent name if they dont actually worship or have anything much to do with Satan

Dude used the name Satan to symbolize that they were the opposite of Christianity.

Satanism is all about self worship.
Devil Worship is made up to scare people.

I was referring to LaVey Satanism. The predominant version in the modern world.

However, you have to believe in Christian mythology to believe in devils or Satan. Therefore, Satanism is a subset religion to Christianity.

no type of satanism belive in devils, thats a common miscomception

Satanists dont see Satan as a devil and only use that name because they see him as a deity who knows its blasphemy but doesnt recent us for it because in satanism they dont worship Satan but they see him as a common ally

they simply see any christian myths as lieing blasphemy

But Satan is part of Christian mythology.

Satan its true is the name, but once again they just use it

Satanists dont belive that, they have followed roots to where christianity has stolen the name and mixed it up to say Satan but they belive Satan or Ea' as they call him is an egyption being and that christianity is a blasphemous lie to cover that

So, should we call it Eaism?

you can call it what you like, suppose it should be called eaism....but like all other types of Satanism..its still called Satanism

maybe because Satan means "adversary" and they are "adversary" to christianity

Most stanists, luciferians dont even believe in Satan. Im sure there is a one or two cults related to satan worship that go around sacrificing animals, but thats not what satanism promotes. Essentially it is a philosophy that tells one to live by their own ego.

It's really labeled 'Satanism' because Lavey was a showman and used the term 'Satanism' to gain attention in the public eye.He belived God and the Devil were delusional states in the human mind and that people should give into carnal pleasure.The name was used to turn heads socialy and has nothing to do with them actualy worshipping satan.
