I wouldn't see why considering the types of surgery that can be performed now. I tore all 3 of my main ligaments in my left knee over a year ago and I can walk fine now. Also have to factor in how much damage the bullet did to the whole knee.

I think if a bionic leg were to replace the injured leg, it would be walkable again.

Yeah if the leg wasn't blown off. That person would have to under go surgery and physical therapy though.
