What the hell dude? I alluded to the fact that I saw what you are calling the "illusion". I didn't want to ruin that for everyone so I didn't state what it was so that people could actually take the test!!! You are acting really dense today. I did what they said to do...I did that AND many other things...I was pointing out that this test was easy. Can you read?

I know exactly what the point was of this. ...why is it hard to believe that I was making a point other than the intention of the authors?

The point of this entire thing is to throw you off and skew what the human mind perceives...that much was obvious before I even began the test. I didn't fall for it and I took it a step further than not falling for it. I over did what I was told to do to prove a point...you can only be tricked if your mind isn't sharp. You can practice to avoid little traps like this.

I am not the sharpest mind on KMC. I never made such claims...I just don't fall for those types of tricks. Like I said, you can train your brain to keep from falling for those tricks.

This was a test of psychology and how the human mind's attention can be pre-set for certain stimuli...you know that...don't you?

You can train your mind to avoid these types of tricks by simply doing exercises involding these types of tricks over and over. It also helps if someone explains the "trick" to you instead of just seeing the answer.

This, my friend, was far from an optical illusion.

Are you making fun of me because it seems like the popular thing to do?...I expected more out of you because I feel you have higher quality posts than most. You should feel ashamed.

but seriously, if you have such good attentive processes, come to my lab, I'll be more than happy to test it for you to see how much better it is than regular humans, and then, since you have such good attention, ill get famous for having such a unique subject

I don't think that that was very impressive at all...more like the test wasn't impressive and I wanted to make a point of that. I still find these types of things fun and I love doing them...when I actually get tricked...I LOVE IT!!! It goes to show that I can't anticipate everything.



You saw what I observed from that video... I really don't have that good of "attention" as you put it...I have ADHD. (Yes...three different ADHD specialist have tested me, twice when I was a child and once more recently.)

You have a lab? AND you want to test me in it? That sounds sexy...extra large probes please...I like to "feel" the data measurements.

thinking of it as a "trick" is a good way to lose the effect. People like to think that they are above being tricked

Well if I did post that, I lied to make myself not seem as "good" because I don't like coming off as arrogant...(I know what you are going to say to that.) I don't feel like going back through the posts to find out if I did or not. But I really didn't have to train myself...it is the way I am.



I fully agree there. I love being tricked though because I don't get tricked very often.

To be fair, if you watched thinking 'I'm not going to fall for this', while wilfully ignoring the instructions, it's not really a valid example of the test.

Though, I did quite blatantly , and find it hard now to imagine people miss that.

Well, I didn't not follow the instructions...I counted white passes, black passes (and added those two up), tape in the backround, and any other "things" that might have come up....I went into the test with the idea that there was a trick and the "trick" was what I was really going to be tested on.

I believe that is what you two are getting at...I screwed up the results by approaching the test with a "trick" in mind.

Stil, I have only seen it once. I know that I didn't count all of the passes correctly.
