Yeah seen it......looks kinda scarey. Looks like somebody is going to be in alot of pain, in the relatively near future.

Didn't he wear make up in the 1989 movie???

Looks great but on another website I saw someone talking about how the Joker puts on his make up in this film instead of it actually being his face. I hope this isn't true as if it is, the Joker is ruined.

It's your opinion, but I think that the Joker is hardly ruined if he puts on make up instead of getting a chemical bath... For one, it's more believable, and that's what Nolan and company want... Realism... Secondly, I think it makes him even more crazy... I mean, a guy who dresses like a clown every waking moment and murders for the fun of it "clearly has issues"...

It brings a whole new vision to the character, and I'm all for different interpretations...

Anyway it does look like he's wearing make up...I dunno if the whole make up thing would be good or not...whether it kinda add's to the madness of the joker. I'm guessing we aren't getting any chemical scene, where the joker is created...and if we are then it's a flash back. Judging by the end of Batman begins the joker has already been created.

What about this? All the reports about Joker wearing make up are probably true, but we're taking them the wrong way... What if the flesh colored neck, etc. is really the make up, like in B89? Why he would wear it, idk, but it would be kool scene to see Batman or the Police try to wash the white part of his face off, but it doesn't come off... Then the water touches the flesh colored part and it smudges... They look in horror as Joker puts on this HUGE grin...

I don't mind a make up wearing Joker, but I think that would be a nice twist at the end...

I highly doubt it. It's not much of a twist when it's been done before, y'know?

Yeah, to cover his skin color but here in DK he is wearing make up to look like...well, himself.

Guys....the Joker is a sick, twisted screw ball that shows how f'ed up he is by carving a smile in his face and putting on make up.

I believe the make-up Ledger is wearing is a scarred face.

Did joker go mad because of the chemicals or because his face got disfigured?

I think it looks more realistic psycho but I think the 86 Joker actually tried to be as close to the comic appearance as possible.

I'm talking about the character The Joker (i.e. Jack Napier) that is why I comment on "why the joker is wearing make up?". Maybe should have re-phrase the question "Why is Jack wearing make up?" If it was intended for Ledger then I would pose the question "why is Ledger wearing make up?"

I really don't care overall if the movie is good but if I find it distracting then I will care. Like I said I'm still gonna save judgment for the movie. But so far I am not thrilled.

I look forward to seeing The Dark Knight. I like what I'm seeing so far of Batman and these pics of Ledger as The Joker. Chris Nolan did a fantastic job in bringing back The Batman to the movies. The first one was a smashing success. I believe this one will be too. The batmobile rocked in BB and the Batcycle or Batpod will rock in TDK. Judging from the way Ledger looks, I'd say he will do an excellent job as Jack Napier/Joker. Maggie Gyllenhaal will do a much job than Mrs. Cruise. The story and the action will also be better. AND..... The next Batman film may be called Shadow the Bat

Yeh from what I have seen of The Dark Knight so far its going to be an amazing movie and dare I say it maybe the best movie of 2008. I think Nolan has done a great job with handling The Joker so far. Ledger imo is going to turn in a performance that will not only thrill but creep out people with his darker Joker then any version that has come before. And that title for the sequel to The Dark Knight is just a fan favorite personally I don`t really like it I would much prefer the next Batman movie to be called The Caped Crusader or Batman Redemption.
