Anybody listen to Grindcore music here?

If you have no idea what grindcore is, then.....thats too bad.

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska currently, which is yes, a sad place for music, but the local underground scene here is awesome, we have a ton of grindcore bands. Plus we have a lot of grindcore bands tour around here.

If anyone wants to list any bands, or post up any links to some cool grindcore bands, go right ahead, I'd love to check them out.

I love Napalm Death, and that's about it...

Yeah, they are pretty badass.

There's a ton of local grindcore bands down here that I love, like Mother Pile, Billy Knuckles, and Manslaughterer.

I've recently seen a band from Canada called Kursk play, and a band from Berlin, Germany play called Cyness. Both were VERY kickass.

The closest thing to Grindcore that I listen to is DeathGrind (in before someone bitches about genre names). Bathtub Shitter is pretty imaginative and catchy as far as grind bands go.

Yeah, it's not the most sophisticated name, but that doesn't make the band any less amusing. I mean, what grindcore band randomly breaks into funky porno riffs?

Things like that are the reason I only like Napalm Death. That, and most other bands are shit...

The first Carcass album and Napalm Death are about the only things worth mentioning... Not that I really like either, but there you have it.

Yeah... the "Grindcore" name makes me think dog shit. The music itself makes me think festering, smoldering and nauseating pile of dog shit.

.........well I do know a grindcore band called Pretty Little Flowers.

Take that. And they are badass.

I personally don't like Grindcore at all, but I'm not gonna bash your music preference like the other guys here are, as I know what it's like(my fave band is ICP).

Grindcore is that just another name for death metal..well anyway people are always messing around with defintions. I heard some tracks from Napalm Death I like......I think thats it.

Oh ho ho no you didn't! Grindcore and Death Metal are two completely different things. The only thing they have in common is vocal style. Most people confuse Grindcore with Death Metal, because their perception of DM is grinding insturments and incoherent screams, which is actually more accurate for Grindcore.

...well my point is regardless of wether the correct term is grammar or not when Arctic said "could" everybody knows he meant "couldnt" so for me its pointless in correcting him and jokes of that manner tend to go over my head due to the reasons given.

Europe has great Grindcore bands, but the states have their share too.

I noticed that all the Euro grindcore bands I've heard usually use voice modifying equipment to make their voices sound more gutteral, and beast-like, as I like to call it. But of course, not all do.

I definetly recommend Rompeprop, a perfect example of a band that uses voice modification. Probably one of my favorite Grind bands.


Some other Grind bands I like are Tu Carne, Splatterhouse, Gruk, P.L.F., Murder of Crows, Cyness, Superbad, Death Crue SS, Defect Defect, Poppy Seed Grinder, Spasm, and Necrogore.

I've seen Napalm Death twenty-five times and they never tire me.

I find most of the extreme genres house the nicest people, not only Napalm Death but also the likes of Akercocke, Rotting Christ, Obituary et. all. I've been fortunate in being able to meet a hell of alot of peeps.

Napalm Death after Bill Steer left is hardly of note imo.
