Old Western style shootout. Setting is a Nar Shadaa cantina/pazaak den/scum hideout.

Han Solo and Chewbacca are wanted by authorities for crimes against something or other, and at the moment they're busy hiding out and drunking out in some dark, dingy rathouse on the Huttese moon of Nar Shadaa. Solo, packing his trademark heavy blaster with the sight filed down for quickdrawing, and Chewbacca with his bowcaster, are aware that trouble's about to come knocking at their door. And sure enough, Carth Onasi and Atton Rand find them. Carth is toting his trademark Onasi modified blaster and another standard blaster as his secondary (Since he is ambidextrous); Atton Rand is using a modified hold-out shooter which does some damage but lacks in range.

Who comes out of this minus their life?

Faunus
I would think that Han and Chewie would win based on teamwork, but Atton is an ex-Jedi-killer, and Carth is a trained soldier. Individually they're probably more skilled than either of the smugglers. So I'll go with them, for now.

tulakhordpwns
but Carth is a whiny *****
that alone gives han and chewie the win

Janus Marius
No, no it doesn't. You'll have to do better than that.

Too much we don't know to make an accurate decision on this.

Atton Rand, for all we know, could have been a Jedi Gunslinger, in which case his side takes this easily. I suspect we're talking non-Jedi Atton then?

And what time period Chewie and Han are we talking?

tulakhordpwns
Keep in mind that the blasters of the KOTOR era seem to need a lot of shots to kill someone, while Han's heavy blaster and Chewie's bowcaster can easily take out an enemy in one hit. Of course, if this is jedi Atton he might know that blaster bolt deflection technique.

kamhal
Hmm, hard to say. I think that, if Chewie can grab one of them, thus using his superior strength, he amd Han can take them out, but if the fight turns in a blaster fight, even if Han take down one of them i doubt he could beat both of them together. And even though Chewie is also good with his blaster bolt, i would put him in a inferior class them the rest of the fighters. I don't know, it's hard to say really, depends in who is the first to fall.
Note: if Atton fights as jedi then the victory is cleayr for his team. I mean, blasters against lightsaber? It would be a butcher.

tulakhordpwns
It says that Atton Rand is using a modified hold-out shooter which does some damage but lacks in range, so he doesn't have a lightsaber.

Where does it say that? The only reason it takes a lot of shots to kill someone is because KOTOR is a GAME. Its called game mechanics.

I'd say Atton and Carth, since Atton is an ex-jetti killer, and Carth faught against Mandos. (and lived to tell the tale.) I just can't see Han beating them both, and Chewie's bulk makes him an easy target to a trained hand.

tulakhordpwns
Also makes him really tough

Janus Marius
Non-Jedi Atton, for what it's worth. He is still technically force-sensitive.

ROTJ timeframe, shortly after.

Where did you get this from? Gameplay mechanics? KotOR-era blasters still use the same blaster bolt technology; they are simply of different makes and have smaller ammo paks.

An enraged Wookiee can soak up blaster shots like the best personal shield generator, but a quick shot or two to the head and he's down for the count. That leaves Han Solo trying to outduel three guns with his one.

Just wish to note something on the blasters...

While upgrades come and go, the technology in blasters changes little from its creation to the most recent Legacy comics. Same applies to space travel, personal hygiene, etc.

Unlike our world, where we went from flintlock pistols to computerized assault rifles in a few hundred years, technology in Star Wars is very...stagnate, after thousands and thousands of years.

So, while there may be a few thousand years' difference in age between Carth's blaster and Han's blaster, there will be no real difference between fire power.

Janus Marius
Yep. A lot of things remained the same, though some became more refined. Captiol ship shield generators were unheard of in KotOR times except on the largest of ships, while during the Clone Wars almost all ships above fighter size had them. Also, during the Hyperspace War Gav and his sister had to set up points for hyperspace travel, yet over a thousand years later in Kun's time and Revan's, such hyperspace nodes are scarce. Almost none exist in the Clone wars era.

Bacta is almost unheard of in earlier eras too, being replaced instead by kolto and other natural products.

Se7in
In that case, the whiners win, for once.
