So yeah, I have a ton of respect for Ron Jeremy, and I think he's a pretty cool dude. So I added him on myspace(lame, I know). But anyways, I noticed he was having a debate with a "porn pastor" named Craig Gross.

This Craig Gross guy, on occasion, has these little get together-shin digs-meetings/whatevers, called "Porn and Pancakes", where apparently a bunch of people eat pancakes while he preaches on about porn.

I don't feel like searching around the website myself, but I thought this might be something to share with the religion forum. I'm personally with Ron Jeremy on this whole topic, but check it if you're interested.

Not ALL of them do but yes, I would agree that there is too much perversion in the supposed "holy men". Is there a statistic out there that shows that there are more "pervs" in leadership positions in religion as compared the the population average?

Depends on the religion. Not all Christians and such have pastors/priests. Mine doesn't.

We don't have a leader, as in a pope or anything. The closet thing we have to any actual "leadership" are Elders, and they don't actually hold any authority, they're just more respected because they've been in the congregation longer then others, like 50+ years. But they're nothing like priests. They don't have the authority to get a child or person in to a situation where they could rape or molest them.

No, we basically all discuss it together. Even I, a 15 year old, go up and give talks and stuff. We all earn from each other, but my point is that there is no one dominant person or group of dominant people who make all the decisions. There IS a board that handles the economic decisions and such, but that's about it. There's nothing like a Pope or priests.

Aren't "Elders" responsible for "disfellowshipping"? In any case, they are authority figures within a religious organization, if they set their mind on molesting kids I doubt it would take too much for them to be able to do it. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've heard of "Elders" being prosecuted for child abuse.

I'm sure there ARE Elders who have molested Children before. I'm not going to lie to you and pretend my religion and everyone in it is perfect. In any group of people who have influence over others there will be those that abuse it. However my point was that it's not nearly as easy for the Elders in my religion too do things like that, then it is for..say.. priests. For example, it would actually look very suspicious for an 8 year old boy or girl to be in a room alone with an elder. Children are supposed to be supervised by there parents at nearly all times.
