Nabu is skyfatherish, maybe border-line abstract. He's not taking down the IG.

I can't say I'm surprised that many don't really know how powerfull Nabu is because frankly we haven't really seen him in action many times except when people posessed the mantle of Doctor Fate , which isn't really at Nabu's level during Day of Vengeance .

As you well know , in the DC Universe there are the Lords of Order and Lords of chaos who struggle for domination over the other .

One of these Lords of Order is Shazam who I belive needs no further introduction :

Another Lord of Order is Kismet , DC's equivalent of Marvel's Eternity :

Despite this , the strongest Lord of his Age is still Nabu the Wise :

So as you can see , Nabu is actually stronger than both Shazam and Eternity , this being a reason why I thought this as being quite a good match .

He did well against the Spectre and is also stronger than both Kismet (Eternity) and Shazam , meaning he's beyond Universal thread .

How could Nabu possibly stand up to the Gauntlet if he got killed by (hostless) Spectre? Phantom Stranger is on a higher level.

Never said that hostless spectre was getting his ass rocked by cap marvel. nabu proved to be inconsequential. thanos would think nabu out of existence. curbstomp and spite. nabu stands no chance.

The LT himself stated,

that if the IG were to be formed outside the Prime Multiverse, (LT calls it, "our Universe"
it would be the demise of that other Multiverse and perhaps his own aswell.

Thanos w/IG wins. Nabu is still a very powerful being and this isn't a low showing at all for Nabu losing. Thanos would have to try for a bit but not long to overcome him.
