Donkey Kong, way more experienced and has face more deadly foes than Zangief.

Donkey Kong can make small earthquakes with his handslaps.
He is seriously strong.

Donkey Kong makes Zangief's ears ring hard after hitting them with his hands.

Donkey Kong's not that big dude. In his 3D game for Nintendo he's pretty short, and is not a whole lot taller than Mario.

So? He still wins, besides, we don't see him stand up, he's always hunched.
