No Bale and no Routh... Shame...

But it could be a nice way to create a "Movie Multiverse"... It may sound stupid at first, but think of the possibilities... A "Movie Multiverse" could spawn a, dare I say it, Crisis on Infinite Earths movie... If done right, and rewritten to include a meeting of two Batmen and Supermen (a surreal moment that would be shown in comic book movie montages from then till forever), it could be the greatest comic book movie to ever be...

As for casting this Justice League, I would make it...

Superman: Tom Welling- He's already Clark Kent in Smallville, so he understands the character, and I would kinda like to see him don the mantle of the Man of Steel, being an "alternate" Superman from the Donnor/Singer one...

Batman: Michael Keaton- Who better? He's already been Batman in the Burton films, so he understands the character, and I would like a definitive end to the Burton saga, with Batman as this Earth's first costumed hero, with metahumans coming during his fifties... He'd have animosity towards them, being the loner of the group, but he'd know that he needs their help to stop this super powered threat (please let it be Darkseid!) And would eventually garner respect for Superman and the rest...

Wonder Woman: Kate Beckinsale- She seemed very interested in the role, she's hot, and she's been in a decent action movie before, so I have faith that she could play the Amazonian princess...

The Flash: Ryan Reynolds- Again, he seemed interested in the role, so just give him the role, I'm sure he'll do fine...

Green Lantern: David Boreanaz- He's voicing Lantern in the DTV New Frontier, so why not let him play him in live action?

Green Lantern: Henry Simmons- He's the choice if you want a John Stewart Lantern...

Green Arrow: Justin Hartley- He played the character on Smallville, so he'd be fine for the role...

Vixen: Halle Berry- She seems good for the role... Vixen's basically a model who has powers of animals... Not much work needed... She'd be a much needed second female member... (Hopefully she wouldn't destroy the role like she did with Catwoman)

Martian Manhunter: Christopher Judge- He'd work perfectly as J'onn... Needs no explanation... At least, I think so...

Darkseid: I'm not really sure, how about you guys decide...

And if I have to...

Supergirl: Hillary Duff- I've seen a couple of manips with her as Supergirl, so she at least can look like the character... (She'd be there just to die in a possible Crisis movie, so we could have an iconic "Superman carrying Supergirl's corpse" scene)

Any thoughts?

Interesting choices, but Keaton will never put the rubber suit back on. Kate Beckinsale has already turned down WW on numerous ocasions. Hilary Duff as Kara, I don't see her as a comic book character. Berry ruined Catwoman so I doubt sdhe'll do another character. I do see Ryan Reynolds as The Flash and I also see The Flash dieing so they can spin off Wally West. Welling turned down the Supes Returns crap. Christopher Judge has a distinctive voice so he may work out. David Boreanaz as a comic book character, he would be an interesting choice.

I've said this a few times now, Not to mention that catwoman has absoulutly nothing to do with the one from Batman.

I doubt Ryan well be doing him now since i've read some news of a deadpool movie which he's interested in.

Aside from keaton and welling, i can dig those choices.

There's been some news about him being interested in both movies as well as not wanting to do Deadpool because of some character he played in a Blade movie.

Well this is the latest for Deadpool

Well, seeing as how Keaton and Welling aren't exactly favorite choices, how about...

Superman: I REALLY can't think of anyone other than Routh, Welling, or if you want an older Superman (which you probably don't, and I
don't want one either), Gerard Christopher (as you can see, I want people with experience in the roles, to give the project some credibility, which it's losing fast)...

Batman: David Boreanaz- I've heard people around the net that have faith in him being an able candidate, and I'm really out of ideas, so... (though I'd still love to see Keaton one more time)

Wonder Woman: Kate Beckinsale

Martian Manhunter: Christopher Judge

Green Lantern: Henry Simmons

Flash: Ryan Reynolds

Green Arrow: Justin Hartley

Darkseid: Who to be Darkseid? He's definitely worthy of being in the movie, but I can't think of anyone to cast as him...

ragesRemorse
Superman- Thomas Jane

Green arrow-Ryan Gosling

Flash-Ryan Reynolds

Wonder woman-Uma thurman

manhunter-Kevin Mckidd

Batman-Gerard butler

Darksied-Ron Pearlmen

Green lantern- who cares its green lantern

Doubt Tom Jane will ever do another comic book movie. I've always liked Uma, but she is too old for Diana. Kevin McKidd may be playing Thor so he won't be involved. Ron Perlman is also to old, a good choice nonetheless and Leonidas himself as an older version of Batman, he may work.

I was suspending reality in my post, thats more or less who i would like to see. Mckidd might Thor though? That is pretty sweet. You think perlman is to old for darksied though? After makeup and all, The only thing i see is the presence and voice.

Ron Perlman is too old for Darkseid. Ten years ago, I would have said Michael Dorn because he also has a distinctive voice. Voice wise Perlman would be a good choice, but since he will be fighting, just can't see it.

Tom Wellling may be Supes

Ah... One of my choices may join the cast? Kool...

As for Perlman, his voice would work great, maybe Darkseid could be CGI?

Some things are supposed to be motion captured. I'm not sure just how much will be CGI.

I've heard they want to do this in motion-capture animation, like Polar Express and the upcoming Beowulf. Maybe that's why they're after George Miller to do this, coming off his first foray in animation with Happy Feet?
If so, it makes casting choices less hard. But, I doubt this is what fans want to see - they want live-action superheroes on the big screen.

Not to sure about George miller, but i would prefer this direction than live action. I think most all Superhero movies should be cgi or animation anyway. This movie would CGI heavy anyway, and to present the CGI realistically an astronomical budget would be required. Why not just Do it all in CGI or animation and be able to offer more.

roughrider
That's why so much superhero stuff was animated saturday morning TV; because they didn't have the tech to pull it off and make it look convincing, for the most part - the early Superman films being an exception. Now that we have CGI creating reality so good we can't tell the difference, they have to go for live action, or it's regression. Animation is just for the direct-to-DVD market and TV now, for superheroes.

JediKatarn1
Ryan Reynolds is over rated and is way too old to be the The Flash. RR is 32, Wally West is between 18-20 when he get his powers of super speed. Another thing Reynolds looks,"NOT" a thing like Wally West. He looks like Jay Garrick (Flash 1) but nothing like Wally West. I've seen many actors and the best person who comes across facially to being Wally West is actor Sean William Scott (American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding, Final Destination). If a Justice League movie is made Sean William Scott should land the role as The Fastest Man Alive.

Jessica Biel is in talks to play Wonder Woman.droolio
I guess they are truly serious about this. It's still debatable whether this will be live-action or motion-capture CGI, but...they want to get this rolling before a strike could happen in the hollywood industry.
I think I understand DC's strategy. Outside of Superman & Batman, they seem hesitant about how much another DC character can stand up on their own, in a film about them. But, by doing this ensemble piece, they can then do spinoff films with this as the base. The public will become aware of Flash, Green Lantern, Diana & others by recalling "Oh yeah; they were the other heroes working with Superman & Batman in that movie." Then, they will have seperate films. DC is seeing what Marvel is doing, with all the spinoff projects coming from the X-Men films.
If this is targeted for 2009 though, does that mean no Superman film with Brandon Routh? Have they given up on the series?ermm

Not only have they talked to Jessica Biel, but also australian actress Victoria Hill. Superman:The Man of Steel starring Brandon Routh is still scheduled to be released either in 2009 or 2010

Jessica Biel would be a great choice for Wonder Woman. I'd get Alan Ritchson to play Aquaman & I'd also want Aquaman's costume to be updated & made better.

Lucid Lui
Ah, god. Not for Alan Ritchson playing Aquaman at all. I honestly have no idea who i'd want to play him. In my eyes, much like Wonder Woman, i never seem to think of anyone who could pull it off.

Though, I'm hoping his characterization in this is something of a mix between the Aquaman in Justice and how Dan Jurgens wrote him during his run on the book.

Who wants people from Smallville? None of the main characters on that show outside of Rosenbaum can act worth a damn. That would be horrific.

They really need to have Bale and Routh in this movie.

They haven’t finished casting yet, and Bale and Routh have said that they would do the movie if they were asked so there’s still a little hope.

I'm actually glad Biel turned it down. She's too big a star to play WW if that makes any sense. I would find it difficult to suspend disbelief. Anytime she would be on screen, you'd think it was just Jessica Biel in a Wonder Woman costume instead of thinking it's Wonder Woman.

Tyrese is up for contention to be John Stewart.

Johns inclusion was for stupid reasons though, diverstiy is overated...go with waths best fot the movie. The green lantern everybody knows is Jordan, not to mention John isnt that powerful so it would kind of defeat the purpose of uniting the most powerful superheors under one buidling if u have a mid tier like John.

Why aren't Brandon Routh and Christian Bale playing Superman and Batman, respectively? I hate the lack of continuity between the movies.

Well to be honest, to todays generation, John stewart is the more famous lantern. Three years on Cartoon network has almost wiped away any memory of hal in the minds of millions of viewers. To be honest i'd like vixen or black lightning in the movie anyway. They are more original than another freaking green lantern.

That just depends on how seriously the movie tries to take itself.

IMO, Ultimates style is too bland. I don't care to see everyone in black and gray leather.

Not as bland as the all-black look of the X-Men films. A little more colour would have helped.

She has signed on, unless for some reason I've gotten bad intel which I doubt. As for Evans its being reported that he has been turned down to play Supes. I think with these young actors its because Warner's wants to have a big budget, which in itself doesn't mean much. More casting announcements should be forthcoming some.

Superman:
Everyone but not Brandon Routh.Physically, he wasn't even enough buffed to look like Supes.Muscular defination and volume didn't maked him look like a Man Of Steel, just an average muscular guy, not even very toned. And I know what I'm saying, I'm a personal trainer/bb instructor.Tom Welling working up for 5/6 months would be perfect for the role.

Green Arrow:
Justin Hartley is too young, I would give a shot to Tom Jane.

Flash:
Ryan Reinolds?Maybe, but considering how he ruined Hannibal King, I hope the writers and director will not ruin Wally West as well.Otherwise he could surely pull it off.

Wonder Woman:
Sarah Carter, in DOA she showed to be fit enough, and as Alicia in SMALLVILLE she pulled off a really good interpretation, I would give her a chance, tough she may lack the "chest" to be WW.

Martian Manhunter:
Christopher Judge or Laurence Fishburne, both them are used to characters who express themselves in elegant manner and who thinks by their own personal standards, see Tealk and Morpheus, and physically they both would need just a little more workout, Fishburne the one to exercise the most.

Batman:
Christian Bale, period, the best Batman after Michael Keaton, if not the BEST.

OK as far as Supes, i give you that. yes, he wasnt physically set for the role but he did some what resemble Reeves (face gestures & such), but my point was that of continuity for already existing character/actors. to change it up would be like recasting Bale! & personal preference on whether you liked the super man movie is irrelevant! for he did not play a bad Superman, it was the shity writing to actually make this story a continuation!, & not a restart like the rest! (F'ing Bryan Singer) !

& as for Reynolds as Flash, IMO he did a sick Hannibal King...I mean the ****ing guy was hilarious & kick ass at the same time! i thought it to be great!
& as for Flash!.... dude c'mon there is no other choice here,... there shouldnt even be another choice! this guy is so toned, witty, funny & gets down to business when needed, just like the real Wally Weezer! IMO Reynolds is as close to finding anyone on this green earth with the exact qualities of a comic book character! well... (aside the fact he cant run across the world 7 times in 1 sec.!) smile LOL!
but other than that, this cat is vanilla ice cream in a world of chocolate syrup!....(they just go together) smile

At that rate, they will be beaten to the theatres by an Avengers movie, if Marvel is on schedule.
Are they trying to link the movie universes of Superman & Batman with this? The idea that Superman will be killed by Doomsday seems a giveaway for the next Superman film.
I'll bet anyone here, the eventual Green Lantern WILL NOT be Hal Jordan. Odds are it will be John Stewart (70%) or Kyle Rayner (30%)

& Reynolds just happens to have that quality of making you laugh without really telling a joke is all!

what wally comics do you read? seriously?

WOW! did you even read my last response?! or maybe your just incapable of picking up on the written/visual humor!?...... so apparently I Must be reading the ones You Dont have in your collection!....
Again! I NEVER SAID HE WAS AN F'ing COMEDIAN! He just every once in a while will do & or say something sarcastic which, ergo: ends up being funny!!!!

you really have this complex where you think im making him out to be the funniest fast person in the world or something!

i'm not, at all. what im saying, is that waly generally isnt even that sarcastic. green arrow, plastic man, those guys are funny, intentionally or not...

wally is one of the most serious people on the team...

yes he is a serious character, & ive never stated that he wasnt !... i dont mean to make it out that like in every comic he does something funny or sarcastic! not at all! but if you read them as i do, then you know theres that 1 every once in a while where he'll just say or do something that happens to be a tad bit humorous.

so just to get back to the original issue, thats the reason why i thought Reynolds would be perfect! ... hes got the look, the physique, & you know Reynolds is funny so he can easily break out of serious character mode & make that one semi noticeable comment or facial gesture !
*shit even Wolverine being a hard ass got away with some funny moments in the X-Men (tril), but then again his character is a bit more sarcastic*

as far as the JL movie..its not a running comic... its only gonna be about an our & a half to express stuff from all characters, so i think they'd manage to throw in 1 good & or semi decent laugh amongst that merry band of miracle workers!
& just for Reynolds being who he is, i think that they'd take advantage of that for Wally!

EEEW, i mean really...,eew, just eeew.

Wasn't Reynolds down with playing the flash...,what ever happened to that?
Reynolds is atleast an adult and a half decent actor.

I'm not even going to comment on a rapper playing GL.
Thanks for the update, even if it is nuasiating

This movie is going to suck balls. Words cannot express my hate for Brody. Hollywood is thinking they can make easy money by throwing a Justice League movie together half-ass.

I'm with super pr*xy, why is Hollywood screwing up my childhood?
I'm probably going to see it no matter what, but if it sucks I wont support it, wont recomend it, wont buy any sort of merchandice, just like Spider-man 3.....I'm b.a..glare

Megan is so very gorgeous. It just may be worth it to see her in the Wonder Woman outfit.

I believe they're going ahead without Superman & Batman for this, solving the franchise problem for Warner Bros.

Hopefully a good story will help

C2theR
Yes my friends! ...Magan Gale... definitely a good pick made by the studio personas!

But will someone please explain why they can have Batman & Superman
(Bale & Routh) on the same damn movie set?!? ..... i mean you'd figure that these big money studio fools would realize that more people will go to see it just cause of the names alone! not only that, the faces are already recognizable by millions, not to mention a little something called continuity !!! .... i honestly dont understand the politics!

any way here you go...

suprmanvsbatman
well put it this way if brody plays the flash well im officially not even going to watch it coz we all know ryan reynolds was born for the role of the flash. and also a rappper green lantern im pretty sure you will all agree that sucks and is perhaps a bit racist and steriotypical lol.

suprmanvsbatman
oh yeah and megan fox is a dead ringer for the role i think smile

to be honest i fancy the pants off her anyway so it probably doesn't mean anything lmao
