So I still haven't registered for my courses yet and classes start next week. I've looked at the catalogue and decided which ones I want to take. The thing is, what are your thoughts on attending a class the first day without officially registering for it? I've heard from some of my friends that it's alright being as it's only the first few weeks, ppl drop and add classes left and right. I personally have never done this before (I've never been a victim of late registration). I plan on getting my hands on the syllabi by the way for the courses I want. So yeah, thoughts?

You can get the Syllabi on the next day.

So you're saying ditch the first day?

It's better that you do that because on the first day the profs. tell the class what is required, what kind of work you'll have and how you'll get graded.

So, I guess I'm going the day after Labor Day then?

That's true. It's just weird because I haven't even registered for the course yet and there I am collecting syllabi and not doing homework.

Thanks in advanced. People attend classes all of the time without having registered yet in hopes of obtaining an OVERRIDE which would allow them to officially register for the class soon after some people drop the course.

I'm personally against it and will never do that. I make sure I register as soon as possible.

So yeah. If you're determined to take the class and want an OVERRIDE then you really have no choice.

This really shouldn't be an issue.

Either you want the class and will do it, or you don't want the class and won't do it.

i usually go to the classes i picked then chnge if i wish

The issue is that I'm afraid I might get kicked out of class or something if the prof finds out i'm really registered. Might be a bit embarassing wouldn't it? (;

yes they usually do take attendance on the first day so i would send profs an email and just say, im considering taking this class would you mind if i sat in on the first day or something and see what they say

Attend class the first day. Go to school everday and learn. Get good grades.

The thing is, I haven't officially registered. Don't get me wrong, I love learning.
