Latest web project

Well this is a new project that I’m working on for the company that I work for; I’m working on some new steaming FLV tricks that I’ve learned to display some of our video projects. It is not done fully yet but I wanted to see what ya’all thought.

"Talented People Work here"

lol

Sweet

Great.

Thanks, I'm really liking the FLV video, acts like streaming without needing a steaming server 😄

I recommend replacing your current video streaming software on your video server with something better; your demonstration video at the home page had stop-play issues and so do your other videos. The video play back software you are using looks real nice and it said that it was "streaming" before playing but it still stopped and played repeatedly. The video you are using is high quality. Are you hosting all of this web content yourself?

Your demonstration video is very well done. Your webpage layout is crisp, clean, and simple...just the way I like it. When it gets too complex with tons of things going on...it becomes unprofessional, imo.

wait...what? You don't have a video server for streaming?

What type of connection do you have? These vids are between 12 and 45mb, but the steaming is done through Flash. Pretty much any steaming is going to have the stop and start unless your running a fast T1.

We do have a steaming server but we are moving to FLV's becaue you don't need a streaming server to run them, FLV are incoded to do this on their own wrhen running through Flash.

A lot of sites use Flash Video because it works well and it doesn't stop playback because it buffers appropriately.

That's awesome...

What I was getting at earlier...

I am not web developer so I am not nearly as versed in web development as you are...keep that in mind as you read this...

I thought that the Flash player "intelligently" assesses the speed at which data can be sent to a target and then automatically adjusts the player to buffer accordingly. Meaning, the video will not stop playing once it starts because the host has determined automatically how much to tell the player to buffer before playing. IF this feature exists in Version 9, then you would have to configure the player to function as such.

I know you can adjust your local settings for the player but your target audience may not know how to do that.

I looked at your source and you are embedding the player right into your source code...exactly what you were saying.

So...is there a way to adjust the player on your end to intelligently buffer on a case by case basis?

Also, is this you? I captured this picture to make it seem like you were about to say the "F" word.teehee

The website looks great, however . . . some of the framing in the video interviews is a bit odd. The head room is fine, but the subjects need to be framed a bit more to the left or to the right, depending on their eye line with the interviewer. I'm a prick about sh*t like that. The rest of the production quality in the videos was great; the zooms were smooth, the pans were consistant and just the right speed. Also, there was no overuse of effects, i.e. cheesy wipes and page turns. The simple fades and slow transitions were perfect. 😄

Spam, etc

I'll have to look into that more, right now I'm just using the default settings for Flash MX 2004 MediaDisplay and no that isn't me 😛
