That was awesome! He was like "ow ow ow ow" when they tasered him. Why did they take him down from the mic? was it because he wouldn't shutup with his question?

I swear, the fat piggish cop is smirking when the kid got tasered.

It was a lot more involved than just him asking a question and geting tackled by the police.
I think they used excessive force, but a little more went into it than just that.

See, I don't understand what the hell John Kerry has to do with it. That's what bothered me most of all. Everyone is plastering John Kerry's name all over this, like he was holding the tazer or something. Of all the footage and pictures I've seen, I haven't seen John Kerry's mug once.

Although I would laugh if they did that at the Academy Awards.

Don't need to. It's clear that the moments before they tasered him he was doing nothing, just sitting there yelling and such. They could have just dragged him out easily.
And also, one of the cops seemed to be enjoying watching the kid get tasered.

I strongly suspect that the reason the kid got tasered was because his causing a scene (because he was mad about the mic getting cut) gave them barely enough of an excuse to let off some stress (and to exercise their egos) to shock him. They'll likely say on their report that he reached for one of their guns or something.

In the context you are referring to John Kerry and the context that I am using John Kerry are two different things. Why can I not find it amusing when someone owns someone else? Because the cops don't want their superiors to see what really happened because they'd get fired?
How does "Dude, get off of me!" qualify as "resisting violently"?
inimalist
that video actually has 2 points where it cuts out. We don't see the part where he asks his questions or is escorted out.
Clearly excessive force anyways. Most cops could bench press that kid, even were he trying something, they could have held him real easy. I don't know, here in Canada they put people in the back of the car when they are acting up rather than assaulting them...
But ya, I agree with RJ, we cannot make any real conclusions from the video we have seen. There is a response from the University put up that seems to support the idea that the cops were acting sadisticly, but it also questions whether or not the student would face charges.
A full video would clear things right up though. Whats taking youtube so long lol

Lying on the ground pleading to "not tase him" sounds like he's subdued.
And RJ, there are camera's everywhere now. It's a great thing that people videotape this stuff, it will eventually cause cops to think about what they're doing, rather than tasering some dude because he's being kind of a dick.
Why wouldn't people video record this type of stuff? They see some guy lying on the ground with half a dozen cops around him, asking "why was I arrested" only to get shocked for a response.

My assumption is either a) CNN didn't film it and this is what one of the guys friends sent to the media (making him look good) or b) CNN filmed it and i) wanted to make the cops look bad for scandal ratings or ii) left the other parts out because they thought them of no consequence for a society that can only handle headline news.

I watched a couple of videos...
Its a tough one. Clearly they had no right to man handle him the way they did in the first place, but the way he acted afterward did warrant them having to assert their authority (note: Not that I think it is right that they arrested him, but once they started they aren't going to stop, and he certainly made things worse for himself).
The police should be reprimanded, but I think a more important concern is who issued the order to arrest a person asking questions in the first place.
They called it inciting a riot, but I think that was an excuse for the cameras and to get him out of the building.
Does anyone know if he is still in jail?

I never said you couldn't find it amusing.
All I said, is I don't understand why John Kerry's name is being plastered all over this story. He didn't have anything to do with this ridiculous situation. But FOX news would have you believe that he was the one holding the kid down and zapping his ass.

I'll say this. I am at a career crossroads. On one hand, I have the oppurtunity to advance in the hotel business. On the other hand, I have the option of joining HPD. IF I opt to become a policeman, and I am questioning a suspect about...whatever, and said suspect acts a fool and gets vioent, I will taser him right in the balls.

Problem here, RJ, which is the same problem with that last video of the UCLA student being tasered, is that the cops waited until he was already subdued to taser him. This particular case, the guy was flailing about wildly and was obviously in the wrong for doing that. But, for whatever reason, they didn't taser him then. They waited until he was on the ground, rather calm and subdued, THEN tasered him. They should be doing it when the threat is there, not after the threat has already passed.

Very little warrents being tasered while handcuffed.
But regardless, in this video we can see pretty clearly what he's doing; lying there asking questions, yelling a bit. Tasering should happen to avoid danger, it shouldn't be done after the danger has already been averted.

Yeah, during the interview they said he acted like kind of a douche and he lost control just like that and started yelling and they shot him in the knee cap and he went down but kept yelling and was like why did you shoot me and they they shot him in the gut and went silent for a while and they were like that's how you do it and then he starts yelling again and is like why did you shoot me again and then they did something and he went silent all together.

Ay guey, I really hate ricers....with their loud and unintimidating coffee-can mufflers, plastic spoilers, bodykits that are 10 different colors and undercarriage neons. I hate both the looks of the cars, their drivers and the whole ricer sublculture. They may have smooth handling, but they almost never beet Muscles when it comes to drag.

Talking about blowjobs doesn't justify getting tasered. Those cops are a liability to that department.

go move to china. if you like this you'll have a 15 minute nonestop cum explosion in your pants when you see their tactics. plus you wont have to wish for your freedom to be stripped away since its already taken care of.

hey, dont bag on all four-bangers. i just cant stand when someone takes a nice looking import and destroys it with all the pointless bells and whistles. to me thats like a skinny dude putting on one of those halloween muscle-man suits and strutting at the gym.
in fact, i much prefer 4 cylinder imports. great gas milage, handles better in shit whether, and i dont have every douchebag in a vet or mustang wanting to race me. favorite ever was my old 93 crx (very fun to drive, like riding a gocart) and now i have an acura rsx-s which has quite a set of balls for a four cylinder, i must say.

That's a perfect analogy. Economy cars should stay that: economy cars. Sephias and Civics are great economy cars: they have excellent FCR and last a long time, but they were never inteded to be souped up into a Stingray wannabe.
Acura =

. At least it isn't an Integra though; they make up about 40% of the ricers I see and my 64 Imp burns them all the damn time.

I'm talking about the common Integras. The ones with four headlights and that look like tarantulas.

It's natural that if you feel your rights are being infringed upon unjustly to grow angry.
And no, you are wrong. To justify tasering it requires more than just 'acting like an idiot'.
Asking for it would be saying "Hey, taser me please". Not "Why did you arrest me? What did I do? Don't taser me, bro".

I've seen that happened many times; usually in bars or sporting events. Usually the guy is taken down and subdued by four cops/security guards. Tasering isn't that common when it comes to escorting an annoying idiot, and a big violent drunk deserves to get shocked more than some nerd who's upset about a cut microphone.

oh is that what you were saying? well, my mistake for reading all the other crap you were saying. you know, justifying the disciplanary use of less that lethal weapons on civilians who pose no threat....because you dont like the particular victim. morons like you breed dictatorships. i bet you think you're a freedom-loving patriot too, huh?

lemmee guess...you are the type of person who, when asked by a cop to leave a scene of....well, any scene, you say no and stay? even they ask you professionaly? and when cuffed, you are going to continue to act beligerent, KNOWING they are gonna taze you?
just a guess.

no they cannot, barring running away and falling on their face. a man who is on the ground and pinned down, begging >>>BEGGING, YOU DICK<< to not be tortured is certainly rendered harmless.

no, im one of those guys who has police officers in my family, has a shield on my car, and doesnt give police officers shit. this doesnt mean i wouldnt disown any family member or friend who pulled this type cowardly shit. looks like you dont know a damn thing about me, and as usual are spewing excrement.

he was tasered as a means of discipline for being loud and obnoxious.
apparently this is now legal and accepted by many.

...that's it? Aren't they supposed to taser people when they resist arrest for something more serious than talking?
**** that.

you are right, I know shit about you, thats why I said it was a GUESS, dummy. I have no desire to know you, you are an angry little man who assumes he knows everything about everything. thats why you were banned, because of your hot little head.
on the ground, helpless....hmmm....can we see him on the ground? not just glimpses of what they want us to see after editing, but the entire thing?
lemmee ask you this, what IF it is edited, and the suspect is trying to injure the officers? would you still stick by your post? if in fact the suspect was still struggling wildly and the cops couldnt transport him without injuring him, or without risking injury to themselves, would the taze be justified? or would it be better to simply beat the piss outta him?
theres a reason its called a "non lethal weapon", brainiac.

apparently you can now be tasered for hurting a police officer's feelings, infringing on his ability to ejaculate.

I don't think four police officers should feel threatened by one college student...
Still, regardless, it looks like an infringement on freedom of speech, however you put it.

there really was no reason.
people like to switch the premise and justify his tasing rather than his arrest. maybe his arrest was justifiable, hell if i know. but thats the game they play. "we dont know the full story". indeed we dont. so arrest him. but they had to taser a man who was CLEARLY posing no threat and begged to not be tortured. then come the sci-fi-esque suggestions of video editing.
sure RJ, george lucas and ILM did some cgi magic on all the celphone videos just to make the cops look bad. whatever gets you through the night.

Still, regardless, it looks like an infringement on freedom of speech, however you put it. well, if this forum was there for a particular reason, and this kid decided to wreak havoc, which it is plainly obvious he did, the police are more than empowered to remove him from the scene, by any means necessary.
things went wrong when he resisted. you resist the cops, you pay the price.
